The air is cooling.
And with the cooling air comes hunting season one of my true loves. Been doing it since I was 15. I have always been an avid white tail hunter . The last three years I have been duck hunting and could care less about deer hunting.
Any other duck hunters out there ?

Hell yes!!! Me & my duck retrieving machine Labrador are ready. Dove season is just around the corner in this area also. I haven't shot a white tail in a few years myself, I might try to blast a Bambi or two this year if I have time.

Good to hear. Looking for a new duck boat now. I'd like to get 15 foot g3 with a 72 inch beam side console. My wire haired terroir does the hard part. He knows its time. He's tired of chasing tennis balls

I'd have a hard time killing an animal.

That G3 would make a nice duck blind boat for sure. I'm with you about our dogs doing the hard part, it would suck to hunt without a retriever. It still amazes me every time we hunt how much the dogs love to jump into ice cold water & retrieve ducks, they can't get enough of it.

I wish ducks were more prevalent in this area. I enjoy it but have to travel out of my comfort zone to hunt them.
The hard part is trying to make time to bow hunt, waterfowl hunt, deer hunt (gun season), fall large mouth fishing, pheasant and quail hunt. God damn work get's in the way!!!!!!!!

I would trade big game for fowl if I had to choose. Dove. season is winding down here. Going on a wild pheasant hunt next weekend, hopefully make it to Arkansas in Jan for some good duck hunting. In between Im fortunate to live in a place loaded with quail. Still love to chase mule deer and elk, but birds are by far my favorite.

well I could agree there, that's a totally different outlook. Sure you don't want to kill any animal that walks by your stand, that's foolish. Now just because Ive killed 170 class buck, do you think I would let a 150 class walk by my stand. Fvck no! lol, but under a 140 yes, its always great to manage your kills and not shoot anything with antlers on top. I see where you're coming from.

I used to fish and keep trout. One time I took 5 home, cleaned em and froze em. I forgot about them an found them when I cleaned out the freezer.
I never kept another fish and havnt killed an animal. I also try to buy cage free eggs and farm raised chicken lol. Make fun..... I just feel like the animal gives its life for me to survive (and also build muscle) so I respect it for more than being a dumb animal.
For the record..... I have nothing giants hunters or the sport

Chad, I don't know you, but I hate you. I've never even had a shot at a B&C buck. Can't imagine what that feels like.

Euro, that's just an old saying rednecks say over here in the southern states about deer and deer hunting, nothing relevant to African americans.

I just picked this up for duck hunting season:
Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. — William Arthur Ward

I take a few deer a year they are harvested out of an apple orchard that sits between a large corn field and and a cash crop of verifying veggies takes about a day to fill my block freezer. That's a lot of clean meat that will last quite a while. Average deer size dressed out. 115 / 120 lbs .
Then I'm free to hunt duck every morning before I work and as much as the wife will allow on the weekends.
Rem. 270 for the brown ones. Press my own bullets using nossler bullets
Rem 1187 for any thing with wings black cloud steel .
To those that don't think they could take an animal for themselves I respect your opinion .i have friends that won't hunt. And one who doesn't like to shoot guns. Trust me on this I shot to the heart of an animal that has had a life of freedom is much better than how the cattle industry operates . And trust me I love steak

You have it good noon. Cant hunt before work when you live in the concrete jungle. And you are spot on on the life of game. They have it good, majority of them live longer than cattle and no fences to keep them back. Can't wait to get out of here back to the south east. What kind of noslers are you rolling? I like accubonds, but they are hard to find these days. Been using Gamekings recently. Very good bullet, and easy on the checkbook. Not as sexy as an accubond though lol

I'm sure my name is on a few of Nobama's anti gun lists. After the shortage in 2008 I slowly stocked up on powder, primers & bullets so I wouldn't have to deal with the panic shoppers.
My go to load for white tail is a 180gr Soft Point Boat Tail Jacketed with 45.2 gr of Hodgons H335 powder under it. They group fairly tight out to 300 yards.
Shotgun rounds are the only rounds I don't load. Y'all are right, shot shell for water fowl has gone way up since I bought last about 3 years ago.
