What compares to the Cadillac Escalade? Nothing.
I personally don't care much for sports cars and sedans anymore. The only thing that peaks my interest are large/full sized SUV's. The problem I have is that I am limited to ONE vehicle, and one vehicle only. The 2015 Cadillac Escalade. This vehicle is great and because it's the only luxury vehicle in it's size available in the US, I had no choice but to purchase it. I don't understand why so many great manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedez-Benz, Land Rover, etc... haven't manufactured a real, full sized SUV. They've got the luxury down, just not the size.
The GM full sized SUV chassis is the only vehicle of this size. I'm starting to think this issue isn't limited to the US but on earth. I wish I had more options. Since 1999, I've owned every generation Escalade and have never had other options. The only thing that was satisfactory in size was the HUMMER and the Ford Excursion. Neither of which compare in luxury, style and comfort. Both vehicles seemed to be tanks with leather seats. Plain garbage.
I've owned sedans and wished I could stretch them into SUV's, such as Alpina-packaged BMW's. Maybe one day, Maybach will come back to life with an SUV. That would be heaven on wheels for me.
Cayenne is too small. So are the all Land Rovers, BMW X-series, Mercedes ML's and G's. They're like driving freaking go-carts. Get out of my way, kids.

I hear what you're saying and I mostly agree BUT! the M series BMW X5 is a pretty sexy freakin' beast.
Although they do seem to keep getting smaller :/
I guess these smaller luxury SUVs kind of fit me better though being on the shorter side.Last edited by DrewZ; 06-22-2014 at 09:54 PM.

Lol aust, the reason the euro manufacturers don't make mmassive size SUV's is that they probably wouldn't fit over here.
The G series comes in a L version along with the utterly unreliable Range Rover the new model is pretty big tbh. But are probably a bit smaller than an escalade tbh.
The new bentley SUV when they are finished it in the coming years might be up your street

I WORK FOR CHEVY AND OWN A TAHOE BUT SUBURBANS, ESCALADES YUKONS ARE ONLY WAY TO GO. A LOT OF MANUFACTIONERS SAY AWAY BECAUSE YOU PAY A GAS GUZZLING TAX WITH INCREASE PRICE BUT WOULD LOVE TO SEE JAGUAR SUV WITH THE REAL WOOD GRAIN INTERIOR, NICE DEEP EXHAUST TONE, SOME NICE 22 INCH RIMS.
I am jealous I cant wait to upgrade.

Youll have to forgive me if I dont feel bad that your greatest challenge of the day is being angry about "only" being able to get an Escalade in the class of car you desire.... LOL
If I didnt know and love you Id be thinking pretentious douchebag!
ps- Land Rover have anything or all too small?
-
Ehhh, the Escalade would be my choice too. Just nothing I see as cool.
Kinda how I am about my STS. If I could upgrade to new, I'd go XTS.

I dont think I have seen the 2015 Escalade. I love the 2014. The car is amazing. We have a Tahoe and I love it. I am 6'2 with bad knees and in big trucks I have enough room to stretch my legs a bit. Could never go back to a small car.
I noticed a lot of the 2015 SUV have shrank. The Tahoe, Range Roover, and (not suv) Cherooke are much smaller. Is Escalade still the same size? Being in Texas do you get 2wd instead of 4?

I personally would get a fully loaded limited F 150 or platinum / all the luxury you need and way more functional with the box in the back to put stuff in. That would be my choice

I know you need a big ol hunk of burnin love to hold all your muscle fibres, but seriously the G63s look huge (although I have never been in one, I have a sort of crush on their ugly-boxiness).
Ok, I just went and looked and saw 20 cubic feet more in escalade, wow. And it does look great, even if it's not nerdy-boxy.
The beemers hold nothing. I have two and tried to buy another one and they literally don't make one that holds a cello case that can be hidden away (you have to fold the seats down, etc.).

The g63 just makes me wanna die
It's got that Hummer ugliness - without the bad ass factor
Plain out ugly ugly vehicle IMO

My wife drives a 2013 Yukon XL and there is no way I could ever get her to drive a car or any smaller vehicle again.

Congratulations Austi! I bought 2014 Acura MDX for my wife and immediately fell in love with the car, test drove few other and didn't like any of them, all very noisy, I wish I tried the Escalade though as I still like the full SUV body look, the only thing I don't like about the MDX is the outside looks, but my wife likes it. looks small but it is really huge inside. just for fun I searched for comparison and found this very interesting.

IMO-
sweet ride!
BUT
not worth the extra $20,000-$25,000 vs the suburban or tahoe (depending on whether you're talking about the escalade or the escalade esv.)

I drive a Nissan Altima and when it's above 70 I take the bike
But to make up the difference I dump 20 gallons of high test in the woods twice a week.

Curious what's everyone's car note. Like an average. I would love like someone else said on this thread an f150. ..or the RAM. But I just don't see myself with more then 350-400 for a car note. I can afford more. Just not my thing. Car shopping soon (maybe) and this has been a big debate with me. Stay with that payment and get a newer model of my current car (fully loaded optima). Or super size to the truck I've always wanted.
Just not big on buying toys for.myself...never been my thing but might be the time to treat myself.
Sorry if this threw the thread off track. :/

I was gonna say Toyota Sequioa but after review its not near as sexy on the outside. I have always been a American made guy but after I test drove my Tundra Crewmax it just blew the American trucks out the water.
