    Office Chat...............

Ever notice how everyone in the office that has ever lifted has to come in your office and tell you how they are going to get back into it?

or is it the new year's eve group getting ready to make another two week go of it come new year's?

i work in a company with a lot of fitness nuts (in CA). not many are lifters, but there are some respectable marathoners, triathletes and bike riders - and one cross-fitter. i've noticed that many CA people take their hobbies very seriously.

for the lifters in the group, they seem somewhat serious about training - it's the diet part that many fall down. so... we end up talking a lot about nutrition and commitment to the lifestyle. who knows, maybe this year will be the year...

I'd just take it as a compliment. They bring it up in conversation with you because that's what they associate with you. They probably also wish that they were as committed and successful as you in that field.

I get a little of that when I'm actually lifting. I'm just getting back into it- thus my return to this board.

Sounds like ky co worker most every week. Then there are the ones who try to talk down about you to others saying how you spend 2hrs a day at the gym. LoL.

Bunch of losers. Only a true fool would dog someone for something like fitness.

Yeah, same people from last year usually. Lazy, is one of the toughest habits to break.

I've got the "copy cat" crowd. kinda funny actually. this one kid took a picture of my canned chicken, and then next thing you know, the next week HE's eating canned chicken from Costco too.

then the president starts eating whole chicken you can buy already baked, and now he's telling me I need to do the same as the sodium and nitrate concentrations in my canned chicken are too high.

People are switching to eating whole fruit in the office.

I think maybe five or six people have partially changed their diets somewhat.

I think that's actually one of the positives of our social nature. When people are influencing each other to develop better, healthier habits, you use behaviorism to your advantage.
