In this day and age, I think everyone has the right to express who they are. Marrying a lamp post is crossing a line into the weird. But being transgender is normal. It's as simple as they feel like they're trapped in the wrong body.
I don't think anyone should be forced to live like that because you, or society think it weird.

Plus, if you abolished transgenderism. What porn would I watch?!?

How can they feel trapped? All they know is the body they have. They do not know what it feels like to be a women. What was weird a few decades ago is now normal. imagine the world to come in the next 50 years.The west as a decent society has defiantly peaked. What do the sexual and gender choices of other people have to do with you? I am pretty sure none of them care in the slightest whether you understand their feelings.

The ridiculous idea of bringing something to a public referendum with the hope that the majority will quash the minority when the minority's behaviour is peaceful and hurts no one is nothing but oppressive. I continue to be amazed by the number of people who don't mind oppression as long as they are not the one being oppressed.

And there is no such thing as "societies values" [sic] - that's an invented idea that does the work of letting people believe different things, whilst giving the impression they all agree. Ever have ten people in a room for a meeting? It's impossible to reach a consensus, and someone in authority has to make a choice between competing views. It's a patently and demonstrably false idea that you take a group of millions of people and say that there is any such notion of values that are completely shared by them.

Every society has its laws and is governed by how its people deem to be acceptable. If people feel oppressed then so be it. They are they ones trying to change the popular vote so it should be made difficult to convince the majority. the masses will always have the say because that is just democracy. . That is why i like the idea of a referendum because it lets the public voice its opinion. For or against who cares about the result. As long as the people get to vote its all gravy.

That's how I feel. I don't relate first hand but I take their word for it. Who the hell am I to tell them how they feel or how they identify? So we have to build some gender-neutral bathrooms? Big deal. That's a small price to pay for people to feel like their needs are considered, even if their needs aren't completely understood.
