    E-Cig Legislation, A Personal Appeal..

The FDA is trying to outlaw e-cigs. This hits home for me.
Why on Gods green earth real cigarettes that have killed millions are allowed to remain legal when something that helps people to stop smoking is being made illegal I will never understand.
Anyway this is more of a personal appeal than anything. Here is a link to my blog where I just ask you take 4 minutes, read what I have written and if you dont mind and are ethically ok with it sign your name to a petition to stop this:

    Interesting

I was wondering when this would happen.

If they outlaw e-cigs then they should outlaw cigarettes.

Or let the people decide how they want to live his/her own life.

i think there needs to be more research on the stuff, but i don't think that the gov't should just outright ban it.

Agreed. I mean even if they subject them to the same restrictions as cigarettes, no sale to minors, no TV advertising etc. That would be fine but to make them illegal? WTF ?

E-cigs are cutting into Big Tobacco's profits, so obviously they're going to use their lobbyists to try to have them banned for one reason or another. Until corporate lobbyists are somehow done away with, this bullshit is inevitable.

I thought the whole idea of e-cigs was to get the nicotine without the other carcinogens and whatever else they put in actuall ciggaretts so it was suppose to be healthier...how those are still legal is mind blowing to me...government is playing into the hands of big tobacco buy wiping out there competition imho...

I think one of the big tobacco companies has their own brand of ecig now that you mention this. I really didnt consider small companies, it seems like most of the ecigs are from mass produced places but since you mentioned the vaping thing I can see what you mean. That a whole other aspect to the market I wasnt considering as far as impact.

You spot on as well. What my uncle did was start off at a nicotine level equal to that of a regular cigarette. Over time he went down to the point now where the carts he uses contain no nicotine at all.

Hopefully you ultimately stopped smoking since the bronchial infection didnt kill you but lung cancer most likely would LOL.

Crazy. I banned both (cigs and e-cigs) from my stores, no one is allowed to use them on my property because I can't stand either of them. But this attempt at making them illegal is stupid and certainly a move by the folks at the tobacco house.

the reason you got a bronchial infection is most likely because of the ingredients used to make the juice since there is no regulations they can use pretty much any base oil they want most of them us propylene glycol which is the same thing that goes in your car or truck for anti freeze they also use other chemicals to add bite make it smoother or sweeter I know this because I make and sell ejuice in my town all mine is organic/usp grade materials base oil Is made from vegetables and iv never seen anyone come back with a problem but they do need to regulate the industry like cigarettes

You wanna smoke twigs & berries - go for it

But, yeah - it's all of the political fakery that is painted in front of our eyes

It's pretty official, just about everything I do is illegal in some sort of way. From my juice to my tax free smokes.

I agree that regulation in some form is probably necessary for public health & safety. In fact that is something I would probably support but to make them illegal is just ridiculous and as many have pointed out it is def a power play by big tobacco using their huge lobbyist contingent to put ressure on legislators to pressure the fda to make ecigs illegal. The system is so corrupt that just like everything else it is money first. How sad is that when the FDA is supposed to be an organization that looks out for the health and welfare of the consumer yet their actions and decisions are controlled by money, not consumer safety? It is SO messed up!
