How has Facebook affected you?
I'm seeing a lot of buff people on Facebook. I've been told that a lot of people are spending less time on the bodybuilding boards and more time on Facebook. Does this statement apply to you?
Also feel free to send me a friends request on Facebook. My user name is "Ronnie Rowland".Last edited by Ronnie Rowland; 12-12-2015 at 10:18 PM.

Facebook, insto grams, snapchat,et etc. My wife browses instagram looking at all the neat pics instead of doing something productive and actually working out instead of admiring people. Friends browse facebook instead of looking up something about cars or learning something new.Constantly showing me a new funny meme that IDGAF about. I had an instagram for maybe a month before I got sick of shit I dont care about. Im too busy fixing things, working out, reading scientific studies,or looking for a job to be browsing pictures and liking a piciture I dont even care about.I spend some time here and other forums trying to help out.
Overall, people more spend time on their damn facebook and other social media than with actual family .Sorry, just ranting.

My wife owns her own business and specializes in social media management. So she manages business pages on behalf those businesses, creates new content, reports on activity and responds to business inquires.
There's pretty decent money in it and she was a complete social media head beforehand. Now that she does it for work and has to be on there all day, she actually spends a lot less time on her personal pages.

I'd say that statement is false regarding Facebook but YouTube is the thing what's making these forums alot quieter imho

I found that with Facebook, topics seem to get chaotic very quickly with no monitoring. It can get silly on forums too, but at least there is some structure.
If it's not car related, I don't post on facebook. Even that can get annoying at times.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

Well i was at the airport a couple months back and it felt like everyone was on their phones. No social interaction with each other just staring at their screens like mindless zombies. Its like people have no patience anymore they seem to need constant stimulation.

I am on fB to keep in touch with my family living so far away. Another good is I get news and info from liked pages. BB motivation, Pro fitness figures, eating clean posts are reminders of my goals. Some days it keeps me on track.
Other then those there's no draw for me.
During election seasons, it's more annoying. My far right and far left friends post political stuff that seems to promote their parties propaganda. FB is not a venue doe debate.
The newest twist thing are friends using fB social media to market products as they start selling in multi level marketing. I rather they start a separate fB page for their new biz venture. We were friends once and now I feel like a target.

I use Facebook solely for trolling my close friends and classmates. That's about it. I have no real pictures of myself except my multi colored eyes so people can easily identify me if they personally knew me. And I usually have my name switching between famous porn stars.

I use instagram to keep a memory of my outdoor and parkour life. I don't really follow a lot of people.
One day I will look back at my 40 inch box jumps and impress myself - hahhahaha

I have family across the globe so for me Facebook has been incredibly useful. I also have contact with friends which is something I am utterly useless at otherwise. Facebook have changed my life for the better in most ways and having one single place to communicate with family is awesome for an expat like myself.

I just joined MySpace!!!!
I really hate social networking sites like FB, Twitter, MySpace, IG, etc. Usually, it's just people posting stupid pictures of their worthless kids and people pretending to give a shit and clicking "like." Or some jackasses posting what they had for dinner last night. And most of the people on your friends list are people you haven't spoken to in at least 10 years and have no intention of really keeping in touch with them.
But yeah, I really agree with Marcus that Youtube is the site really taking traffic away from this site. You got tons of bodybuilding/fitness/nutrition videos on there and millions of people (and trolls) commenting away anonymously.

Well, social media like FaceBook, IG, Etc. Really killed the online forum communities. This place being one for sure.
Me personally, after all of home issues and what not - I don't have any social media accounts at all. No BS - if I'm online, it's only here - well, every once in a while I will stop by my old time LSx forum.

Im on fvckbook - i met my wife through it 4 year ago through a bit of flirting and now have a beautiful son. Its crazy to think if it wasnt invented my boy wouldnt even be here.
Some positives do come from social media, plus i advertise my business on there and get a LOT of work from it.

I'm on Facebook daily. But I actually do enjoy arguing online with strangers.
If nothing else, FB is a great off-site Rolodex.
