Jackson Hole, WY! However, by the time I retire, my old bones won't be able to handle the cold. Unless Al Gore is still alive. Then Jackson Hole will have 80 degree winter days.

Just move in with him. He'll never know you're there.

How many are rethinking location based on hurricane season. I have friends and family along east coast and in Florida and in Texas.

I can't see myself happy if I am in need of retirement. I see myself working until the day I croak. . . .

I'd be happy to finally retire in my childhood dream - a quiet, isolated woods/mountain scenario, preferably cold enough for my metabolism lol.

    Cambodia.

I find the building up of the second world to be extremely interesting. They (and Vietnam, Thailand, etc.) are in that very cool place where they're no longer total backwoods hellholes, but are nowhere near the West in infrastructure.
Hell, if I thought that I had something viable to offer, I'd move there well before retirement. Just knowing that I'd be helpful to development and not just another cog in the machine is a pretty awesome thought.

I have a friend who teaches English in Thailand and has done so in Cambodia too (who hasn't lol). Definitely an easy way in to what you want, and you more than get by with the salary with the local prices there.

I wish I had the patience to teach anything for a living. I just can't do it.

Many of my friends that I have coached for diet or strength training have asked me why I don't get into it as a career.
First, the market is saturated. Second, if I'm helping someone for free and they start screwing up and not listening (or outright lying about their diet), I can just ignore them and be done with it. That doesn't work so well when you're relying on them for a paycheck.
I just don't have patience for slow learners, or those who give minimal effort and wonder why their results suck.

That pretty much covers it - I just kinda wonder, if when I turn crusty I just won't care any more?!

Now - I wake up at 5(or earlier) & my day is full until 8-10 at nite

    I can't just sit & do nothing - ever

I'm pretty happy here in south ga. Only a few hours from the gulf, the Atlantic, Atlanta, Disney world, and anything else I need. I pretty much live in the woods, amongst farmland

And be nicely appointed with an open home gym....overlooking the salt ocean.

I always thought I hated the cold until I moved to Florida. Then never being able to escaping the heat I realized I think I hate the heat more. Lol

yes there are some trout still left but the bass and the northern pike are making them scarce unfortunately...I with you on the heat...it gets hot and humid here just like Florida for about 3 months and then it starts to get cold and stay cold...we are on the down swing now temperature wise...the river is low right now because it hasn't rained much this summer...usually its at least a foot or two deeper...I love siting on my patio out back and watch the blue herons and eagles hunt...living in the woods rocks...
