Excited about surgery tomorrow
Im having a Cornea and lens transplant in about 7 hrs from now. I'm stocked.
I had a piece of metal go through my rt eye when I was 10 destroying the cornea and the lens. I was without a lens until 20 years ago and had one of the first cornea transplant 30 years ago. Neither helped very much at the time. Ive had 11 or 12 surgeries on the right eye since I was 10 but nothing helped much. I cans see shapes, colors but that's about it.
I had a detached retina (bad luck) about 6 years ago that caused the lens implant from 20 years ago to break loose and the lens was floating around, sort of. I can make it go back into place. They fixed it 5 years ago but it was a little crooked and caused problems.
It broke loose again a few weeks ago. This time they are replacing it with new/improved lens. Also they decided to replace the cornea at the same time since they have to basically take it out anyways and it's 30 years old and very blurry. Im Hoping after the surgery I may have near normal sight for the first time in 40 years. Wish me luck.

Are you just really trying to look more Asian and getting cosmetic eye surgery? Just kidding, have a successful surgery. Maybe now you will be able to see your little baby carrot again!

The surgery was a success but the patient died.
Not really, Im still alive and kicking.
It's been 3 weeks. Vision is only back to what it was before surgery, not very good but it still has several months to heal and get better.
There is still pain/discomfort but it's not bad. Doctor said to take 2 weeks off work and didnt have to twist my arm to much. It took me about another 12 hrs to book my trip to Philippines for 2 weeks. hehehe Just got back yesterday.
The good news is the house Im building there is coming along nicely and will hopefully be finished in the next month or two. The quality is VERY good and it's going to be nice.

Thanks, iron work over there is pretty cheap also. The spiral stair case made to order was only about $150. I wish the steps were a little larger but it will do for now. All the hand rails and window grills/bars are custom made and also cheap. Cant go wrong with steel. Speaking of steel I was happy to see they used a lot of re-bar in the walls and floor. Nice 8ft walls surrounding the house should keep the riff raft out once we put razor wire on top. lol

Well it's been just over 2 years since my eye surgery and I have had to have it fixed/replaced 1x a year ago and its tried failing a few times since. Vision still sucks, except when I forget to take my drops for a few days it gets a lot clearer but then it also starts to reject the implant, catch 22. Ive pretty much given up on ever being able to see out of it again more than shapes and colors. Such as life.
