Nominations for Member of the Year

Ladies and Gentlemen the time has come to nominate who you think should be the Member of the Year.

Your nominations should be known as being friendly and willing to help others.

We will be taking nominations until November 6th (Election Day).

We will then take the top nominations and put them in a poll where everyone can vote on them.

The winner will get to chose there Title Line for under their name.

You may nominate a male and a female member!

I was actually going to nominate Obs.
There are many people who answer questions and help others, but I have straight up harassed Obs w questions and he always takes the time to respond. If he didn't know an answer he just said so and pointed me in the direction of someone who did. He also went out of his way to add quite a few quality members to the board, and from what I've seen, the turn around in general attitude can be attributed to him as well (although obviously, such a thing needs to be a team effort).
Those are my 2 cents.

Other stuff cape never got recognition for was bringing the competitions back.

They were dead until he organized them.
Since then there have been.... 3 or 4.

Views in the hundreds of thousands between member logs and comp threads.

And he is a smartass.

I too agree with the others, Cape, you've done a bunch of good work at increasing activity and participation, but I agree with you, this is for the members.

I'll bring you some homemade paint thinner/cold medicine one day.

Not only do I find his posts super informative he has even responded to many of my questions via pm. His responses were in great detail not just simple yes no stuff. Many thanks GH and everyone here who makes this place what it is.

ps there should be most entertaining poster award. Obs has that one for sure!

First member I interacted with... I got no idea.
I pissed everyone off at once.

A good member does not follow, agreeing with everything someone says, parroting things someone popular said.

They dont give dry bland debbie downer advice.
They compliment someone at some point.
They offer options rather than just cut a newbie down.
They dont think their way is the only way or that people are in any way cookie cutter replicants.
They dont google shit and pass it along in a condescending manner.
They give their opinion, not someone elses they claim is their own.
They contribute.

Most of all THEY DO NOT FUCK WITH ME.

I think the first person on here that had an impact was BAck in Black. He pops in every now and then.
There are three people that I believe need recognition.
CApe- he is making a difference on this site. I guess it is what the Dr. ordered. He is not a yes man, but open minded. He has some great ideas. This is not to say that the vets do not have a part in this, they play a very important role, but their role has changed.
OBS- oh boy, where do I start??? Obs has a great deal of experience and advice. He has expiremented outside of the box however his advice is good and not reckless. He also knows how to rally the troops. People follow Obs because he is interesting and down to earth. He understands forums and what is needed to spruce things up. He is not afraid to speak his mind which rubs some people the wrong way, but that is what most people like about him..... no filter.
Obs is really a soft Teddy Bear.
GH- this guy is amazing. He does have a very scientific approach to things and has information that is “different” than most. His explanations are thorough however elementary so even Charger can understand. LOL

I would say my nominee would be for GH. He has opened the door to new ideas and beliefs that I didn’t believe in previously. His advice also works. He has had the biggest influence on me and I believe others.
The female selection would be my SoCal Babe PB. LOL
I am not really familiar with the other females. Kitty would be a close runner up, but I have not followed her enough.
