People in europe pay upwards of 75% of their paycheck to pay for the universal health care among other things. I'd rather have that money to spend on my own personal needs then to have a HUGE chunk of my check taken away. Everyone lives by a double standard so nobody can be pleased.....hell even i do it so i'm not innocent either. We love roids thats something we can all agree on.

actually in England we pay between 20 to 40% tax and in most other euro countries the tax is almost the same i dont think anyone pays 75%.

in return for this tax we get

free health care,

free hospital care and operations.

social security (cash) for every single person who doesnt work especially for family's.

free education school and college and the poorer people get free university.

it also makes sure that no family can ever go homeless, if you lose your house the goverment will get you a new one or somewhere to stay.

it also gives you income support, so if you don't earn enough money the goverment or their authories will give you money to make up for your familes lack of money £££££££.

and the list goes on and on....

we get a lot for a measly 20% to 40% tax, if you calculate all these things seperatly it would cost even more for people. this is a bargain only 20 or 40% tax to make sure that you can never **** up and always have access to healthcare,education,££££'s and good life.

and we have a minimum wage system for people that work full time, which is excellent. so the tax is not really that much considering where guarenteed a certain amount of cash afterwards. so it doesnt matter what you do even if you clean dog **** of the floor you still get a decent min wage.

by the way there are a few tax groups for people that pay tax depending how much you earn and what your satus if (married, single, have children etc..) will depend on which tax group you fall in 20% to 40%. also you are entitled to tax cash back if you have children, im not exactly sure how this works, but seems good.

thank god someone from a country that does this posted, cause i was getting tired of people ranting about how high the taxes were for all of that but in reality they arent that bad. now if i could only move my business to one of your countries ill be set, cause im sure that will never happen in the USA. to much money would be lost in private insurance companies and such.

i would definatly pay higher taxes if i was assured that everyone in the country got the above. no questions about it. it would help alot of people out

Well they are still on strike and new employees took their place. New employees who will work and pay for health care. Sure they still get a good rate but they have to out of pocket some expense cause their employer cant pay the entire thing for EVERY employee.

We have free health care...but we also have the highest taxes in the world and our health care really sucks too lol. But i think its a good thing.

Is it true americans without health care dont get threatment if coming in to the hospital with a life threatening injury? Sometimes in movies they dont help people thats gotten shoot cause they dont have insurance. Thats pretty cold.

Depends on what type of hospital. We have hospitals that HAVE to treat people regardless.

If you had a business and got called to a house to do work on and KNEW you would not get paid, would you still go do the job??? The job you trained 10 years for and spent 100,000 of grants and loans to pay back. Would you just start treating anyone and everyone? If that happened, NO ONE would pay their bill.
Some doctors like working for free. They go to hospitals payed by the state.
Dont start slamming doctors for not treating people. People dont NEED to work for free and shouldnt.

As far as rich people. Not all rich people came from rich parents. If you believe that, then you are just being lazy and trying to blame your income level on other people. Anyone in this country can become rich or at one time had the oppurtunity. ANYONE.

Quoting that 15 years Iraqis will read social studies books and see how America screwed them up. WTF. Its only been 8 months since we've been there and already you are looking ahead 15 years and STATING we will have screwed them up. That is retarded. Until you go to IRAQ and ask the people how they feel about us, why even try to convince yourself they hate us? Do you have friends in IRAQ who talk to you on the phone and say they hate us??? Where are your stats coming from? The news?
Seriously. How do you know they are not looking forward to a futrure without Saddam? UNTIL ALL OF YOU FACTUALLY KNOW a majority of the opinions of IRAQIS, why even put lame ass comments like that that they hate us being there?

i said that, but i was talking about US students reading that not iraqi students, maybe not that we screwed up, but im sure they will read that it turned out just like veitnam did. and as for them hatting us, yes i do have friends in Iraq and they were in Afganistan too. they hate us with a passion over there, ok maybe know 100% of them but 95% of them do. and as for spewing out facts, if you really would like me to i can go threw all of your posts and copy all of the statements you said were fact that are way off and have been proved wrong by other people posting about them. so i think it is you that should be looking for fact

This is a neutral comment, but I do have family (through brothers marriage) who are in Iraq. And although they are happy about Saddam out of power, they don't like the U.S. staying there, and not leaving and giving the power to the people yet, and just sticking around. In terms of the majority, I dunno. Just wanted to say that though.

It's funny to hear how differently people can think on different subjects...especially politics. The great thing is that all of us are free to express those opinions.

I don't agree with the more liberal slant of things, but I truly respect all of your point of views. Truth be known, I would probably get along with all of you if we were ever hanging out somewhere.

With that being said, I'm going to abstain from any further debate in this thread since it truly seems like we are beating a dead horse here at times in regard to politics. I can see some of your point of views to certain degrees, but in other ways it is almost impossible for me to relate to your point of view.

I know that I won't be able to change any of your points of view, and in turn, no one is going to change my point of view...so enough said!
