Also winstrol killed my lipid panel the one time I tried it. My total cholestrol went up over 100 pt's.

Stay away from Statin type drugs for Cholesterol if you can, they tend to do more damage than good. Every one I have tried I had side effects. It could have been the reason both my shoulders tweaked at the same time and I had to have surgery on my left on recently. Another one gave me a cough for over 6 months and the last one contributed to my high liver enzyme count.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Hawthorne Berry Extract. Hawthorne berries are high in bioflavanoids, which are known to reduce capillary permeability. There seems to be a fair amount of research studying the affects of this extract on high blood pressure and other related conditions, such as angina, cardiac arrythmia, as well as the early stages of congestive heart failure. At any rate, I typically have an elevated blood pressure whether on cycle or not, and when I started a cycle with Anadrol my BP entered stroke range. Taking Hawthorne Berry Extract immediately dropped my BP, and tracking my BP along with different doses revealed a direct correlation. Good stuff.

I take this on cycle, particularly when using orals. Good call/reminder.

Actually, i should correct that because it really is a symbol for a prescription. But when i use it like that in a sentence its simply short for pharmacy. I hope i haven't confused you.

Back to cholesterol for a moment. Guys who have issues should consider a VAP (Vertical Auto Profile) test. Labcorp offers it as do other labs. Google it. It goes beyond the normal lipid testing and is basically an advanced partical test that breaks down the proportion of dense LDL particles (large or small) with small being worse for you. Kinda opposite of what you'd think. The small ones can cause more inflamation thus more issues.

I'm getting one done Thursday actually.

I personally take around 1000mg per day of the brand I get while on cycle, but there seem to be several variations out there depending on the brand. In general with what you have, I'd probably take two capsules each day, and take that again if you notice your blood pressure spiking uncomfortably. One of the great things about Hawthorne is that you can take it as needed; it seems to take effect quickly.

Statins are extremely effective at lowering LDL quickly but have nasty sides and not worth it unless all else failed, IMO.
What about other classes of cholesterol drugs like fibrates or resins?

Anyone had any experence with these? I ordered some TriCor foe my next cycle.

How much sodium do you consume every day? And have you ever thought about using No Salt? It's a potassium salt so it'll taste like real salt and it also will help lower your blood pressure.

Don't eat processed foods, they tend to have a ton of sodium in them.

Yes they can have sides, but the problem is many docs are prescribing more than is necessary. Doc has me on only 5 mgs of Crestor 3 x week and lipids are perfect.

aspirin above all, can't beat 32% absolute risk reduction for heart attack and 22% reduction in stroke.
low dose statin if lipids are off, the Total cholesterol/HDL ratio is thought to be the best indicator of risk from lipids. If your HDL is great it can offset a high total. Ratio below 4 is usually fine.
With the blood pressure it is critical that the cuff is proper size. I see many using a standard adult cuff which is going to yield artificially high readings. Arm should be rested and at the level of the heart. The wrist cuffs generally stink.
And niacin is used in OTC and prescription to raise HDL if you can tolerate the flush at doses of 500-2000. Needs to be taken with aspirin and low-fat snack.

Ok, great that's what I wanted to hear from someone. Thank you sir.

I ordered some TriCor, which is a fibrate. I will keep this in mind if that doesn't work well enough.

Hawthorne extract wont make your bp too low. Actually, it is more of a stabalizer. It can raise bp when too low and drop when too high. Good, safe stuff.

Aspirin doesn't lower BP or thin your blood like many think. It does reduce cardiac events due to its anti clotting properties by suppressing the production of prostaglandins. But yes a 81mg baby aspirin a day is plenty for this purpose.
