    Blood pressure & Cholesterol control.

    I would like to raise some awareness about the dangers of high blood pressure & cholesterol while on cycle.

    These elements of our body are not called "the silent killer" for no reason. It is well known that AAS can raise your BP & Cholesterol to dangerous levels, what a lot of people don't know is what to do about it, it is all too often over looked, most users stop at estrogen control & don't even bother with BP & Cholesterol control.

    I would like to change that. I would like to gather any & all available knowledge & info of techniques, methods & even ideas of how to control these dangerously overlooked factors of cycling, & from now on when we give cycle advice I would like to see everyone including advice on how to control blood pressure & cholesterol as well as estrogen & prolactin please. This is serious business.

    Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    I'll start with my favorite & proven methods:

    For Cholesterol I utilize oats, garlic & fish oils. 1 cup of oats per day, 2 cloves of garlic per day (you can use the pills if you can't get past the smell of raw garlic) & 900 mg of omega-3 fatty acids + 100 mg of Co Q-10, this all comes in a single triple strength fish oil pill found at any vitamin store. Aside from supplementation, I stay away from high cholesterol foods.

    For Blood Pressure, I use use garlic, a diet low in simple carbs & sodium, & if necessary I use a Vasodialator, like Cialis or Viagra, there are many more Vaso's out there but these are the one's I have found to be most effective.

    Side note: Garlic will not lower blood pressure but is very effective in stabilizing your current BP, so in other words, if you control your BP level through diet & / or Vasodialator, garlic will assist in keeping it "in the green".

    I'll add a couple for now.

    DHEA micronized will help with cholesterol levels.

    As you stated cialis helps with BP, it a nitric oxide booster, approved by the FDA for BPH and many, many other fine "upstanding" attributes. It should be avoided if you have inherently low BP though.

    What you eat can affect the amounts of HDL and LDL flowing through your bloodstream, cholesterol can be lowered by eating certing foods and has been found to be effective.

    Half cup of dry oatmeal or oat bran.

    Almonds contain two powerful antioxidants – vitamin E and flavonoids – which prevent the oxidation of LDL,One ounce of dry-roasted, unsalted almonds.

    Flaxseeds contain lignan and soluble fiber, which block the production of LDL and increase your body’s ability to get rid of cholesterol.

    Garlic impedes the liver’s ability to make cholesterol

    Antioxidants in blueberries, such as anthocyanins, have been found to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and improve cholesterol health

    Soy protein contains phytoestrogens – compounds that increase the number and effectiveness of LDL cholesterol receptors, improving the liver’s ability to get rid of cholesterol in your bloodstream.

    One of the best things you can do to avoid unhealthy cholesterol levels is to avoid consuming hydrogenated oils. These are artificial oils that have been processed in a laboratory for the convenience of food manufacturers and food marketing companies

    Good old exercise speeds blood flow in your arteries, reducing your chances of inflammation, clogging and hardening of your arteries,also it can be hereditary so check your family history thats why I check into this subject as the male members of my family are know for high cholesterol,thats why I looked into the food side of things there is loads of other foods this was just some that I have found also I take omega 3 daily which is said to help

    I think another big thing is people actually getting there bp checked constantly throught cycle, i see bulk posts of people complaining of headachs etc who havent been checking there bp.

    Prevention is still the best way though

    You can buy a BP monitor at any drug store or even Wal-Mart so you can keep track of you own BP.

    Ive also heard this but its still better then nothing i check my bp before i start and then usually evey few days throughout so ill still see a diference if it goes up

    Yeah, I agree it's better than nothing, but I wouldnt be too alarmed if you're reading a little high. If you're showing in the 140s or higher, I'd definitely look in to it more.

    Good topic in discussion here... like you for Bp I take a Vaso, Cialis..also for my PTSD nightmares I was prescribed an old BP med called Prazosin 1 mg. which is also used off label for prostate health. However my Bp never really goes that much higher but I still take it daily with an Omron from Wal- Greens..$100 just read 126/78. I usually take it 2 sometimes 3 times in a row to make an accurate avg. For Cholesterol I eat 1 or 2 cups of whole grain Oats in the A.M. w/dates & walnuts or almonds, I love garlic and can eat it whole but my wife says I smell like an Ahknahd gas station owner so i take the pills. I eat a crap load of White Albacore Tuna but still take fish oil also. A Bp machine is a definate must in my book and worth the money it cost to potentially save your heart! As said earlier good excercise even walking is good to keep the arteries clear clean and healthy. Good call out Bear! Ooops was logged in under my wife...forgot I signed her up. She's a Registered Dietician anyway so she will be able to share alot!

    Funny, I've been saying this since I came to this board repeatedly but generally dismissed.

    Anyway:

    *Omega fatty acid rich diet...daily fish oil supplementation
    *Low/limited amounts of saturated fats and simple sugars
    *Use as little AI as possible
    *Don't smoke
    *Limit alcohol
    *Keep an eye on your levels
    *Use SERM's like Faraston when you can

    There you go, do these things and baring any underlying issue and problems will not occur in most cases.

    Garlic helps, but don't expect it to excuse you from eating clean. You might still need to go get an RX for bp meds.

    CARDIO! I went from a good cholesterol of 11 to 38 in 5 weeks. My docs mouth dropped when she saw 11. She said 'I have never seen it so low in all of my career'. It scared me. I was eating clean, 3500ish cals a day. Lots of red meat and constantly bulking. I did a minimum of 30-45 mins cardio 6 days a week before I lifted for 5 weeks. Made such a difference. Also I take 3000mg of fish oil a night and I layed off the red meat. Now to keep everything in check I do 20 mins on the elliptical 5 days a week. It's bs when people say small amounts if cardio will lessen your gains. I am gaining better in this current cycle than I ever have before. Be concerned a out the MOST IMPORTANT muscle in your body your heart!

    I feel the urgent need to comment on AI use during a cycle and its relation to cholesterol after reading the comment above as well as having dealt with a member on the forum yesterday who made a similar comment that AI use may have its risks and dangers which may out weight its benefits.

    I am an advocate of short cycles (6-8 weeks) and at this point, I don't feel the need to explain why.

    A typical Arimidex dosage for a cycle that involves any aromatizing compound is 0.25mg EOD. For those who are sensitive to estrogen and if especially gyno prone, it is twice the dose, 0.5mg.

    A 6 week cycle thus would result in one consuming of 5.25mg of Arimidex in total, which would be 7mg for an 8 week week cycle. For those who are estrogen sensitive and gyno prone, double the doses.

    Aromatase inhibitors were neither invented nor intended for being administered by AAS users; however, there couldn't have been a more beneficial invention for juicers, especially considering the fact that we use Test as the base of every cycle and it is an aromatizing compound, which leads to excessively elevated estrogen levels in our bodies and biological design of male anatomy wasn't meant to deal with such high levels of estrogen. Elevated estrogen levels are dangerous for males besides the fact that estrogen itself is a estrogen class 1 carcinogen and for this very reason, ıt is indeed unjustifiable to discuss whether the employment of low doses of an AI during a cycle involves more risks than benefits.

    My point here is, even those who are estrogen sensitive and hence feel the necessity the double the typical AI dosage, are in fact using very little AI. How did I leap to this conclusion? Well, studies state that in the medical field where patients are treated with an AI typical dosages often are that of the tablet (1mg for Arimidex, 25mg for Aromasin and so forth) and intake frequency is everyday, which refers to about 4 times the dose we typically recommend here and then there is the duration: patients stay on these AI protocols for months, some for years. Please utilize the Google search engine and look into these studies in which an incrementation of LDL cholesterol due to employment of an AI is portrayed before trying to further intellectualize this subject and should you recognize the already obvious high dosage and duration regarding the AI protocols these patients were submitted to.

    Yep, cardio is big time important. Forgot to add that in to my list. Even off-season cardio is worthwhile.

    It's not about worrying, we all know there are possible adverse effects to gear use. The idea is simply to minimize those effects to the fullest extend possible. It's not being fearful, it's simply trying to be as smart as you can.

    I always read high with electronic one, like high 150-160

    That was simply what stood out the most to me.

    As for the rest of your post, you're right, all the data on earth has shown that AI's should not have a significant statistical affect on things like cholesterol. I agree and wouldn't argue that point. But most data also shows this changes significantly when using an aromatizing steroid . And again, you're right, if you're truly worried about cholesterol, such as someone who already has sever issues with cholesterol control even without gear, he should probably avoid gear use...in this case, who cares about an AI, he needs to get things under control first.

    in addition to fish oil I take 1 niacin tab and a baby aspirin every morning

    Bear great thread...

    Just recently I had bloodwork done and my lipids were high. RBC was high so i donated some blood. I have always had perfect BP however on the day of the blood donation it was 140/90 which is borderline high so i ordered my Cialis and started taking.

    1- baby aspirin (coated)
    3- grams of Omegas
    2- garlic pills
    2- cups of oats - pre workout and post workout

    And since im currently on a Blast cycle im taking Arimidex and just ordered Aramason instead..better on the lipids.

    Now my question is..... Anyone out there with high cholesterol taking low doses of Statin while on gear?

    Fish oil and if you have a history of HBP your physician should be consulted. An small dose of an Ace inhibitor make mine perfect along with cardio.
    Men should avoid excess soy intake as it can raise estrogen.
