My wife and I are trying to get pregnant with our second child in the next month or two. I haven't cycled but have been researching for the past 6 months and plan to try the suggested first cycle in the next year or two (after the baby is born). My concern is that I don't want to jepordize my job and family from a legal standpoint. I know AAS is a risk but I think I've done enough research to get started. Just wanted to see if you think I would be better off avoiding AAS since I have never cycles to date.

What I said might cruel but what she said is just idiotic. It's just like the people that say that people lived along side with dinosaurs. If you're going to say something make sure it's an educated comment and not the sh.. That the media spreads.

My thread tok a nasty turn there, glad thats dealt with

I am curious though, is Elastica's earlier comment backed up by facts? I was under the impression that we could not influence our genes with our way of life, at least not in any significant way in only one lifetime. Have you got any research supporting this Elastica? I would be curious to read it.

Macros, if you're concerned about legal consequences you should read up on it. In my country there are usually just fines for usage and possession.

hcg and clomid may help. but if its a big poin to have this done now then i would wait on cycle.

i know people that got gf preg on cycle.. but some have issues and dont even cycle, for those it would only make it less likely.

you can greatly effect genes depending on how you live in my opinion, even in just one life time. specially when it comes to toxic chemicals (not meaning aas of course) but people seem to think we are not still evolving....

Sure, you might conceive while on cycle and have a healthy child. Surely most of us know of children born healthy but conceived unawares in conditions of poor nutrition or while one or both parents was using various substances. Probably not what you want to hear, but you should be mindful of the lifetime of health you will be passing onto your child through your genetics.
while i agree to a degree, dna damages can definatly play a role in the health of a child no doubt. but hormone use , or should i say hormones activate many reactions and use our DNA to guid them. it doesnt rewrite the "map" so to speak. i feel its safe to use hormones and have kids. Id be much more worried about washign paint off my hands with paint thinner or other industrial chemicals or even many pharmacuticals over any sort of hormone use. BUT i do agree to a degree that in even one life time you can definitely f$*ck up your genetics and add potential issues down the line in your gene pool/ descendants.

Google "epigenetics" for the answer to this shit slinging contest.

Short answer: everything you put in your body affects your epigenetics, which your offspring inherit. We just don't yet know how large of a role epigenetics may play.

Epigenetics is where I was going with my comment. Genetics are incredibly complicated and there's probably much more unknown than known at this point. We do know that environmental factors can switch gene expression on or off by interfering with the transcription process.

juced_porkchop I can certainly agree that teratogens and endocrine disruptors are the greater worry and that exogenous hormones probably aren't harmful in the same way (even helpful for some). But I believe those are two separate issues. One never knows how their body will react to a first cycle, fertility could be compromised. Secondly, we really don't know if the "map" has been rewritten, or in what way, and/or if it has will that be what gets passed along.

I fixed it for you! Please be courteous.

Thanks for the response Bonaparte, I googled and read, it's an interesting topic. This is a quote I came across which raised a question:
"It takes many generations for a genetic trait to become common in a population. The epigenome, on the other hand, can change rapidly in response to signals from the environment"

How rapidly can it change though? In an 8 week AAS cycle? In a day? In a year? I havent found an answer to that yet. Will keep reading. Thanks again.

IDK. Probably depends on how potent the substance is and the duration of your exposure to it. Epigenetic changes don't have to be negative or detrimental.
