More than likely going to be a one sided beating or a boring JD for Hughes.

Is a great fight for hype and publicity but in reality I don't know how good the fight will be. Either Matt will beat the piss out of Royce or they will wrestle the whole time.

you know its gunna go to the ground and royce will just hold on waiting for his chance and they will be stood up, so i think in the end matt will win

I cant wait! I know it will be less exciting, but I am hoping Gracie slowly chokes out Hughes. I loved watching Gracie win his old fights. When I was younger I remember having arguments about who is better at fighting. My father used to beleive no one could beat a boxer. I thought Karate was King! It was Gracie that proved us both wrong! Wrestlers rule. Most fights end on the ground and combine that ability with submissions and you have a good style.
I know it is fun to watch a real brawl, but a well thought out fight, requiring less colateral damage and using the least amount of energy is both efficient and intelligent. I love how Gracie thinks and I hope he wins!

I think Matt has more weighs to win but you can never count out a bjj specialist like Royce Gracie. His only chance is catching Matt Hughes from the bottom, but I think Matt is too strong for Royce.

i cant say i know who is going to win but i know one thing, Matt is a monster and Gracie is "Gracie" I think Matt is going to over power Royce and pound him or it will go to the ground and Royce will take his time and submit Matt...thats my .02

Matt has always struggled with strong BJJ guys, Hallman, Charuto, Penn but all these guys pushed the pace kept matt of the defensive I see gracie waiting for his chance. I call matt by UD

Matt is gonna bring is elbows for sure and is slams, Gracie gonna bring is body and use it has a punching and torture bag.
He got big brass balls i give him that.
Pertty sure the buy rate for this ppv is gonna out of this world guess that the legends still have good drawing power.

I'm thinkin Matt will win.....with that being said if he get's careless and makes a mistake or opens himself up to submission I seriously think Gracie will capitalize on it and pull off the W.
Hopefully UFC 60 is better than 59....

Allot of people thing Gracie has been inactive which is not true. I think it will be one of Huge's tougher fights. Joyce gets trickier as the fight goes on. Don't forget when most people watched him in the UFC he was against much bigger people, he was wearing a gi, and slowed the game down. He has changed his style somewhat to fight without a gi and he will be fighting a guy around the same weight. I think it's a fight Huge's should win but I also thing people are under estimating Gracie. He has 1 lose as far as I know and he has been in the game a long time.

definitely going to surprise some of you at how competitive Royce will be, Gracie is something Hughes has yet to see. It's not gonna be entertaining, Royce will quickly take it to the ground. It's a toss up though, matt will see holds and grabs he's yet to see.

two great fighters... but gonna be a boring ass fight. still cant wait tho!!!

does anyone else think this fight is like a really, really, shitty substitute for rickson/sakuraba?
i've heard elsewhere that zuffa has been planning it a long time because hughes' lack of marketability.

I think this is going to be a really boring fight that is dominated by hughes. Dude is a lot stronger than gracie and you know he's been training his bjj with jeremy horn hard.
A better matchup for Royce would be Bas Rutten beacuse Rickson wouldn't take the challenge.

I'm torn on this one fellas.......but I do know that it would be very entertaining to see Gracie get knocked out or fall victim to a full blown body slam, that's all I ask

i put my money on hughes. i hope he beats the hell outa gracie. as long as that happens i will be happy. Matt is going to slam and dominate and if that isnt enough he will submit gracie.

lol submit him eh? That will happen (sarcasm)

Penn is a talented striker and his BJJ style is to push the pace, not lay back hughes struggles with guys who push the pace on bottom that his not Gracie, like I said UD for hughes or cut stopppage
-

I don't agree with your assessment that Royce won't push the "pace"... there's a difference to waiting for an oppurtunity to move rather than force a move with bad form. Royce is used to fighting MUCH longer than 5 minute rounds so he's used to feeling out his apponent for a lil bit before "pushing" the pace.
And honstely i thought hughes held his own pretty good for that round until he gave his back. Especially for a guy who doens't train to hard on his back.

everybody talks about how strong hughes is but how about gracie fighting kimo? hughes maybe strong, but theres no way he came close to kimos strength. yes kimos skill wasn't near hughes but i wouldnt be betting on hughes strength to just win this fight for him, gracie fought way stronger people. once the fight goes to the ground, hughes is gonna have his hands full....i think overall id probably have to bet on hughes for the win though, gracies prime seemed to be during his early days of ufc while hughes seems to be in his right now.

Also, BBJ is a lot like highschool wreslting. In tenth grade I was the varsity 275 wrestler for my highschool. I won a lot of my matches because I was stronger than my opponents. I wrestled a 165 state champ from my school and beat him. He was easily ten times more skilled than I was, but I beat him simply because I could over power him. Kimo isn't the greatest BBJ fighter in the world, but he still put Gracie through HELL ! Gracie was so desperate in that fight, he ended up pulling kimo's hair. Kimo wasn't conditioned or skilled, and he still injured Gracie bad.
