if you aren't training mma where you need to grab, I suggest you get a pair of boxing gloves...the weight of the gloves will help with speed and strength of punches.

I like 12oz to 14oz for the heavy bag and sparring. I can generally punch harder than my hands can handle. I hurt my hands if I'm not wrapped and use more substantial gloves.

well for hitting the bag a nice pair of 14oz or 16oz would be ideal especially if sparing. But for mma competition gloves get the fairtex with the open palm...

They make 80z MMA training gloves and some hybid gloves now. If you have some gloves you are looking at, and arent sure which ones to pull the trigger on and buy. Post them and we can tell you what to go with. Not sure what is available in the UK bro.

Where are you training ?? I mean in an MMA Gym or at the house ? Anyways I always used 14oz boxing gloves when I train (at my MMA gym ) even when we spar. Zimmy up above hit the nail on the head , the weight will only increase speed and power. Nothing wrong with some cheap everlast from Academy but if you really want some good ones then cleto reyes or grant ... If your fighting MMA then shooto , Hayabusa , or Truth
