    4 days to first fight!

    got my first first fight (amatuer boxing) on thursday.. been told by my coach not to train after my last session sat, just some light pad work on the monday and tuesday.. does anybody think i should have a couple light jogs on these days aswell or will this make me more tired for thursday!!

    Agree always DO AS THE COACH says...i don't get it why people always second guess thier coaches, i have seen this million times in BBing, people pay me to get them ready and change things last minute without my approval and end up looking worst then they could have if they only follow the advice they pay for...crazy world..LOL...

    getting close now, how are you feeling?

    Theres no need for you to run, I never used to train at all the couple of days before I was fighting

    thanks for your replys.. just stuck to what my coach has told me with light pad work.. feeling quite nervous now as never done anythink like this before and its quite a big event in front of alot of people.. have u fought before if so what u do for nerves if anythink!!

    good luck..nerves will go away once you get in the ring...forget about the people the fight has to be about you and your opponent. besides if you are looking at the people your gonna get KO..heheheh.. go on n get it bro!!!

    cheers mate.. quite looking forward to it but nervous with it.. trained hard for it so cant do no more..all down to what happens on the night now.. cheers

    The nerves are normal dude, don't worry. If you feel they're getting on top of you, do some light shadow boxing then find somewhere quiet close your eyes and do some deep breathing. Your first fight always goes so fast, it'll be over before you know it. As Sicko said once you step into that ring nerves will be the last thing on your mind. Good luck man, keep us posted.

    adrenaline man, use it to your advantage, the toughest blokes in the world will state they still get the fight or flight rush. all the best and lets us know how you do

    I agree, I've used to fight years ago. As soon as your in there all the outside stuff you forget about.

    fought golden gloves a hundred years ago, back in the 60's. still miss it sometimes. coach used to say nerves are your friend. they keep you focused, as long as you're tough enough, and if you're in the ring, you're tough enough.
