Post Workout "Real Food" Meal Question

I recently started using the following as my post workout shake:

    2 scoops WaxiMaize 80g carbs
    3 g Arginine
    5 g L-Glutamine
    5 g BCAA
    2.5 g CEE

I drink this at the gym then head home for some real food about thirty minutes later. My question is what should this meal consist of besides protein? Should it include both complex carbs and healthy fats or just one and not the other? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you should include fats... just do a protein/carb meal 30 mins-1hr later. I usually eat 1.5 hrs after PWO shake.

Why no protein in your shake?

I used to have protein with it but I read somewhere not to mix protein with WaxiMaize. I did this for a little while but I can't find any protein that tastes good with it.

Any suggestions on protein? I'm using the fruit punch flavored WaxiMaize right now and I had some All The Whey strawberry isolate, but I didn't like it enough to order anymore. I guess I could try unflavored MaxiWaize with some chocolate protein because I generally like chocolate flavors.

    Any ideas?

I used dextrose and ON chocolate mint over the summer. It was pretty good. Where is a good place to get maltodextrin?

I dont think you need to wait that long to have your pwo meal. I dont put any powdered protein in my shake either. BCAA's some liquid aminos and some powdered carbs.

Prolly 25g pro and 25g carbs. Thats gets me home until 15-20min later when I eat a full meal of about 100g carbs and 60g protein. I think people wait far too long to get real food in them after a workout.

What do you use for your powdered carbs? Just curious. . .
