yeah, different types of protein tho. Cottage cheese is mainly casein protein, ricotta is mainly whey.

LOL! So after reading my post, I have to change my answer to no, bc one is whey and one is casein (slow vs. fast digesting protein).

Depends on your overall purpose of the protein at that particular time. Are you eating it before bed? After a workout? Also, ritcotta is loaded with fat, are you wanting a lot of fat in the meal?

So...no, you can't substitute it. Look at the difference:

    Cottage Cheese (lowfat)

    Total Fat 2.31g 4%
    Saturated Fat 1.46g 7%
    Polyunsaturated Fat 0.0701g
    Monounsaturated Fat 0.658g

    Sodium 917.56mg 38%
    Potassium 193.23mg 6%
    Total Carbohydrate 6.15g 2%
    Dietary Fiber 0g 0%
    Protein 28g 56%

    Ricotta Cheese:
    Total Fat 25.69g 40%
    Saturated Fat 16.26g 81%
    Polyunsaturated Fat 0.793g
    Monounsaturated Fat 7.31g

Hello all: I think there is fat-free ricota cheese, but it's so hard to find it. I will google it to see where they sell it

I don't think Ricota is a good cheese for bodybuilders, how about fat-free philadelphia cream cheese?
