Dextrose and Diabetes
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone had information on how dextrose would affect your chances of getting diabetes. Currently I have planned to add 80g dextrose in my PWO shake but I am hesitant because I am concerned it would increase my chances of diabetes. There are 5-6 people in my family that have it and I want to make sure Im not putting myself at risk.
Thanks for any input,
Jack

I think the best person to ask is your doctor. Here you'll here alot of different opinions. Some people here are great experts of medicine and dieting, but can't exactly know who they actually are.
In any case there are better choices pw. Take complex carbs like oat. You'll stay leaner and won't have bad conscience if you develop diabethes.

I definitely agree with the doctor comment. I am already looking to get scheduled for an appointment but I was interested in peoples thoughts on here.
I am on a bulking / weight gain meal plan and that was recommended in the bulking thread so I currently have it on the plan. I will consult my doctor and if anyone else has any input please let me know.
Maybe I should just lower the amount? To make it safer or is that just pointless at that point?
Thanks,
Jack

How much time do u lift? Do u do cardio after lifting?
In any case i would take 100g oat instead of dextro and some efa instead of cheese.

Lifting for almost the full 1.5 hours. I will be adding cardio in there 2-3 per week for 30 mins per session i think and cardio on the weekends when there is more time.
I am already quite thin so the cardio is help increase my endurance and to help stay lean while bulking.
I can swap out the dextro for the 100g oat. Sorry for the dumb question but what is efa?
Thanks for your time and help,
Jack

Just adding.. workouts will stay 1.5 hours so some days would change to 1 hour of lifting and 30 mins of cardio.. I dont have more available time to stay longer.

Got it. So maybe just some eggs or spinach?
2 scoops whey
100g oats
1 bagel
1 egg or 1/2 cup spinach
??
I want the meal to be as small as possible. But meet the macros.

Forget it.
You can do so:
70g oat
30g whey
15g peanut butter

We're using different products. Drop the fat to 10g and increase pro and carbo to 50g and 60g.
