I don't measure it but i try to stay away from excess salt, but do use it from time to time. If you don'y drink soda pop and don't eat processed food you do not need to worry about it too much.

I only cook with sea salt (less sodium and more taste) And I use it sparingly. Fast food is another thing to avoid for sodium. one extra value meal has more sodium than one person needs for the entire day.

It's hard to measure, it's easy to avoided, I try to eat a lot of bananas (high on potassium, help flush sodium out your body,)/////

Unless you have high blood pressure or are manipulating water for a contest there isnt a need to reduce your sodium intake. Sodium plays a huge role in how hard your muscles contract as well as many other important processes in the body. I probably average a good 3000-5000mgs a day. One could say it's a poor mans creatine.

thats interesting fireguy...we all look for your advice as a pro bb'er...this is consistent with what another viable source swore by...all the fda and aha hype must be just that....maybe similarly to the saturated fat scare?

thanks for all advice as well

You can't beat sea salt, it is an excellent choice of natural essential micro-nutrients and sodium. The government started putting iodine in salt (iodized salt) to prevent the spread of goiters, they added iodine to table salt (which also goes through 4 bleaching processes to get to the table) so americans would naturally get it (without our permission of course) Sea salt is excellent and the all natural versions are awesome, my favorites are Fleur De Sel and Himalayan Pink, but there are tons from different regions in the world. Go online and check it out, you will also be surprised how cheap it is!
