Soda
I absolutely LOVE Pepsi but I drink way to much and with tryN to eat healthier starting this new year I am tryN to cut the Pepsi.... Is there a soda I can drink still that isn't all that bad? Like diet dr pepper or zero coke? Any suggestions?? I've tried to cut soda completely n cnt seem to be successful so I figured if I tried to do a different soda it might be easier...?

any diet soda with zero cals and no sugar will be fine. i drink 4-6 diet mt dews every day and have while cutting fro, 26%bf (fatty) to 9%bf (not fatty).. itll be fine.. get rid of the regular soda though.. like right now!

It's not that you "can't", it just that you won't.

Soda is just bad diet or not. Stick to water, Crystal lite and zero cal vitamin water and you will be happier.

keep in mind MI i havent had a beer in almost 5 yrs!
diet soda is not the healthiest thing for u for sure. in fact it may actually be bad for u with the chemicals they put in them. however, from a fat loss dietary standpoint IMO it makes very little difference in ur ability to lose body fat! and thats the perspective i think the OP is looking at it from right now.?
if drinking diet soda will help u cope mentally with all the other sacrifices ur having to make while losing body fat i say DRINK THEM AS OFTEN AS U LIKE! and do not feel like they are keeping u from losing fat because im proof they do NOT!

very possible. depending how far u take this (getting lean/BBing) will determine the effects little things like sodium and diet soda will affect progress. i know from experience the important role diet soda played with me mentally especially in the beginning. i even think the subject was touched on in the first 10 or so pages of my thread..
i use table salt as well on my beef every day! so LOL.. what can i say im not there yet with the sodium. maybe when spring gets here!
and lets not forget hot sauce! man id be in trouble with out it!

I'm not much of a drinker any more. Used to drink excessively on weekends when I was in first few years of university. Now, if I consume any alcohol, it might be one or two drinks a year. I don't miss it.....and I have enough other bad habits to keep me in trouble.

I quit drinking soda of any kind about 12 years ago, and didn't touch the stuff since then.
Throughout the day, I will drink nothing but spring water, black ceylon tea and coffee (not more than 2 cups).

gatorade/powerade = sugar same as soda = NO!
as for ur statement about "not into the whole bf% thing", im guessing u made that statement because u dont fully understand body composition. lets say hypothetically u weigh 120lbs and are 30% bf. this means u have 36lbs of fat on ur person. now lets say u take the same person who weighs 130lbs (10lbs more) and they are only 20%bf. they only have 26lbs fat on them.. which one do u think is gonna look better??
total body weight is far less important for aesthetic purposes than bodyfat%. u say u want to lose 25-35lbs. well what if u lose 25lbs but only 5 lbs of that is fat?? then u have dropped 25lbs in weight but have only reduced the amount of fat on ur body by 5lbs!
bodyfat% is major! body composition is major! i suggest u read a little more into it as well as look at these pics so u can see the impact bodyfat% has on the way u look with or without clothes!
my suggestion, forget the 25-35lbs of weight u want to lose. figure out ur current bodyfat% and create a target bodyfat%..
google "BOD POD" for ur area and make an appointment.

^^^ bf % is very important and shouldn't be underestimated. use the attachment to estimate your bf%, update your thread with the information if you like, and we can help you put together a reasonable approach to helping you achieve your goals!!!
