Milk?
Is it ok to drink milk? I hear 75 percent of people don't digest it properly?

Yea those are also the same people who are pounding down cheese, ice cream, yogurt etc.. I'll bet half of that 75% are good story tellers. If you can handle it, drink it

I do not like Milk...Humans are the only specie that drinks milk past infancy stage and also drinks milk from another specie...no wonder we can not digest it properly as adults as all mammals fail to produce lactase, enzyme necessary to digest lactose, past weaning stage of life...so what was ok to drink as a infant becomes indigestible as we grow older and are introduced to our regular diet...

milk is a super food it has all kinds of vitamins and nutrients that are not on the label and there are many studies that prove milk is better for muscle recovery than even protein shakes, the whole purpose for milk in nature is to support growth.

I prefer not to drink milk, just because of whats in it. Hormones antibiotics and such. But I could be overly paranoid. Ofcourse you could go pay for grass fed antibiotic free etc..etc... milk if you choose. I mix my shakes with unsweetened vanilla almond milk since the calorie and macro impact is negligible

If you look here Layne Norton PhD on protein: how much and how often? - Spot Me Bro there's a table showing that milk is indeed a great source of the primary amino acid responsible for muscle protein synthesis, leucine. It has a great amino acid content and is also a great source of calcium (of course) so if you enjoy it and/or want to drink it for more calories (and aren't intolerant) then by all means drink away.
I personally like to use whole milk in all my shakes when i'm having trouble eating enough.Last edited by Khazima; 04-03-2015 at 07:00 AM.

I am not using milk when cutting, and sometimes add it to diet when 'off-season'. Milk isn't essential.

I can't stand milk, I used to service machines at a bunch of dairys and after seeing how it is produced and the smells associated with it, it makes me gag just thinking about drinking it. I will have small amounts of dairy here and there, but I prefer to stay away from it except for my protein powders.

Plus it tends to bloat me... Like most dairy products... All in moderation... But prefer not to either

I like dairy in icecream :-) hmmm rolo-icecream is my best friend :-)

I used to have a high dairy diet(bloated me pretty good) but I can see why... I was going thru 12-14 GL of whike milk a month! Using it in all my shks/oats/whatever I could have at the time! Crazy but obviously waaaay too much lol
Since cutting out milk(I will eat ff Greek yogurt/skim milk/ice cream sometimes, but what a drastic change in NRG, feeling better/healthier etc) just my experience...
