Vitamin D and Testosterone Levels
I recently read an article which suggests that most Western Men make too little testosterone due to Vitamin D deficiency. The science is that vitamin D regulates the genes that are responsible for the production of testosterone in the Leydig cells. It also lowers SHBG, which is a factor in free testosterone levels .
Keep in mind that the Austrian study included 2300 men over the age of 60, so the effects on younger men may vary. You can read more here.
I believe Effect of vitamin D supplementation on testosterone levels in men. is the MEDLINE abstract for that study.Last edited by DaRoq; 03-03-2012 at 10:20 AM.
