Subq test cypionate 1st time shot. Bruising?
So after researching I did Fridays shot of 60 mg with a 29" gauge insulin pen. Loading was fast. Administering was smooth and painless but today/Sunday I have a 3x4 inch bruise like mark around injecting site. Itches slightly.
What would be the reason for the reaction? Should I stick with subq or go back to glutes? I'm looking at trt for life so don't fancy ass full of holes.
Thanks

I always bruise with Subcutaneous injection, which is why I don't use them. I prefer a straight in approach into the upper outer quadriceps muscle. See the sticky string for Best Practices in TRT. I post a diagram of the spot. There are minimal major blood vessels or nerves in this area. I've never tried the gluts. Sound like a pain in the behind.

The only time I've bruised has been when I tried subQ - could have been incorrect technique on my part. I just stick to IM
I no longer check my inbox. If you PM me I will not reply.

I assume 60mg would indicate either .6ml prop or .3 enth, the prop has potential for problems but .3 of enth probably not. bruising I think has alot to do with hitting blood vessels more than anything, has happened to me with tiny 5iu peptide shots making a bruise a good 20X the volume of the physical injected peptide.

I'm subq ing 60ng test cypionate 2x weekly. It was 1st shot subq and next shot today so I'll see how it goes.

At the same flow rate, fluid coming out of a 29-gauge needle will have about 50% more velocity than from a 27-gauge needle, and too much velocity can cause bruising. I pin sub-q with 27-gauge tuberculin syringes and I inject it at the same speed it draws at. It takes about 15 seconds for me to draw 1/10th of a mil (0.10ml) of room-temp Test-C, so that's the time I aim to inject each 1/10th of a CC at.
Try filling a used slin pin with water and depress the plunger at the same speed you inject at, then watch how far it shoots. Then imagine that's how hard it's slamming into your tissues at.Last edited by Beetlegeuse; 03-28-2019 at 01:06 PM.

Beetlegeuse. I'd never thought about it that way. I will load one today to watch the flow. Thanks for that. Massive help and totally makes sense!

I used to buy into the needle size flow rate theory, but my experience does not support it. I almost always bruise when I inject T subQ with a 30G insulin syringe, but I never bruise when injecting my peptide/HCG mix SubQ with a 31G insulin syringe. I almost always inject the aqueous peptide/HCG mix faster too because there's a lot less resistance to the plunger due to it being less viscous. I think it has more to do with the carrier solvent itself (oil vs water).
