    Advice for a 40 something

    Hi,

This is my first post, so here goes. I am a fourty two (42) year old cyclist - my main events are track and a few road races. I have been a competitive cyclist since I was 14 years old and competed at a reasonable level in Europe.

I have only ever tried testosterone cypionate in the off season and this was when I was in my mid to late 20's and again in my mid 30s. I acheived the results I wanted i.e. aggression, strength and some quality muscle, however, I sufferred from some water retention. I took (if memory serves me well) around 250mg per week on a six/eight week period and the testosterone was not cycled with anything else.

I would like some advice on a steroid cycle(s) with a duration of 12 weeks, so that I can have my first cycle to start around now (August/September) and have a second cycle to start late January 07 again for up to weeks.

What I would like from these cycles is increased strength, quicker recovery, increase muscle mass of a maximum of say around 10 pounds and really limit water retention. The last two criteria to me are quite important, as I don't want training partners to suspect steriod usage.

I will not be subjected to testing until early May 07 when my season starts - so any recommendations, can you please keep this in mind for me.

For information I am also on 10mg of lisinopril (calcium channel blocker) for hypertension - I have been on this medication for over ten years. I have had lots of tests to investigate why my blood pressure needs controling with meds' but all tests have proven there are no underlying pysiological reasons for my raised BP. My BP is 130/80 whilst on 10mg.

Is there a cycle I can take to achieve my goals whilst acknowledging my BP?

    Looking forward to your comments.

    All the best,

    Dave

    Hey Bro,
I see you're not getting any responses here so I'll throw in my experience.

    46 years old, 6'3", 225lbs. after 1st cycle

    test e......500mgs a week
    Eq...........400mgs a week

PCT consisting of HGC, Nolvalex and Exemestane

Very good experience, made great gains and feel great.

My BP did get high at times, I checked weekly and once it was 145/90.
    It normal runs 125/75
Hope this helps some, maybe you'll get more response.

I think to control the water retention and BP you should add some Arimidex into whatever cycle you chose. 0.5mg a day would be fine

    Hi Folks,

I think I'm going to try the following 7 week stack.

    Testosterone E
    Weeks 1 & 2 (250mg)/week
    Weeks 3 & 4 (500mg)/week
    Weeks 5 & 6 (250mg)/week

    Dianabol
    Weeks 3 & 6 (20mg)/day
    Weeks 4 & 5 (30mg)/day

    Clomid
    Week 7 (50mg)/day

I know this will be considered by many as a very mild stack, but I thought I'd measure my progress and test my bodies reaction to this stack.

Can I have your views on this stack. As mentioned above in my original post, I have in the past had problems with water retention - do you think this mild stack will cause me any problems? Should I consider Nolvadex as an option and if so when should I start/finish it and what mg?

    Many thanks,

    Dave

    Hackamaniac,

Thanks for the reply - how long would you recommend I run the test for? Are you suggesting a 10 - 12 week stack?

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Kale,

Thanks for the response - I am keen on Spywizard's suggestion but I think I need to do a lot more research on HCG , HGH pct before I decide to go ahead.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hi,

Today I start the stack I mentioned above, but with the changes advised by Kale and the addition of Proviron 50mg per day. My sartting stats are: 5' 11" , 196lbs, around 8-10% body fat, resting heart rate of 42 bpm and bp of 130/70.

I will report my findings as I progress.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hi,

Just a quick update for those who may be interested... I started my stack on the 26th August and it is now the 10th Sept, one day before my 42nd b/day.

So far, a slight increase in BP to 130/70 and it is normally 120/65 solid. However, a noticable increase in explosive power and a slight increase in aggression. What I have noticed is the ability to increase my lifts by an average 10% in only two weeks - this may be the juice or it might just be the psychological effect? Muscle and joint soreness has decreased BUT the appetite is way out of control - I'm so hungry!!! But managing to maintain a well balance diet. As yet no waterer retention or other side effects.

In response to Aliceinchains, I am not a b/builder, but a cyclist who specialises in track sprinting and short course road races, so 60 - 70% of my training is on the bike, therefore a 42 bpm.

I'll keep you posted on progress.

    All the best,

    Dave

Just a quick update - I'm getting the most amazing pump and muscle hardness from this cycle - strength continues to increase.

A word to anyone else thinking about this cycle - eat well and frequently as from my limited experience you get bloody hungry.

    Cheers,

    Dave

Just a quick update for those who may be interested... I started my stack on the 26th August, so almost a month in to my cycle (please see above for the cycle).

As a track cyclist explosive power is essential - I have a noticable increase in explosive power BOOM and I'm off the blocks. My starting times have lowered.

I have increase my maximum lifts by on average over 20% in this short period of time. My earlier post stated my increase in lifts could have been psychological as I had only been 2 weeks into my cycle. I now know the juice has really kicked in. I feel that I can push myself just that little bit further each time.

AND boy am I growing - I needed to go an buy some more bloody work shirts as my collar size has increase, along with my chest - hell lets just say I'm getting much bigger. My quads just seems to get bigger after each squat/press session.

My weight is 206 lbs form a starting weight of 196 lbs. I have a little water retention, but not much. I had my b/fat checked yesterday and I'm at 12%. My BP has not increased!!!

As previously reported muscle and joint soreness has decreased BUT the appetite is still a concern. No matter what I eat and how often, I'm so hungry!!! Six meals a day is just about okay.

Some slight side effects: - bloody greasy skin, spotty back, want to kill people who cut me up in the car and finding it more difficult to sleep AND I am psyched nearly all the time.

    I'll keep you posted.

    All the best,

    Dave
