    went to the doc today

Went to my doctor today for my yearly physical and blood work and asked her to do a Test panel for me. Gave her all the symptoms of low T, Loss of sleep and sex drive, gains in body fat, ED, she wasn't buying it. She said there are LOTS of men asking for this treatment and the ins company's are really cracking down on it. Then she asked me if I had any loss of strength, I told her what I was benching 5 years ago at 35 and what I'm benching now at 40 (which is less for sure) and she wrote up a test panel for me. I'll find out what the results are next week but if they don't come back terrible low what other arguments can I make to convince her to put me on treatment? any advice?

    She. Her. She. Good luck!
You may find out you don't need T.
It can be a lifetime commitment I personally would try almost anything to avoid.
Post your results here when you get them and I guarantee a more thorough analysis here than from she...

I will definitely post them when i find out. Guess i could always just look for another doc is she says no, or I could just cycle with advice from here but I am having trouble locating sources. I have never done a cycle before.

from what I have heard....use the I am "grumpy" all the time more and more it seems....have no energy..no life or get up and go....and try to stay away from the sex symptoms..and hang your head down low as you are talking to her...then this way the doc can think it is her idea to put you on test! and then a win/win......my .02

    WELCOME!

haha, I gave her the lack of energy, drag myself out of bed, lack of motivation symptoms. I also told her I was having mood swings. She asked where I got the idea that I had low T and I told her I had been speaking with a friend who suggested I look into it when I told him some of my symptoms. I pretty sure she bought it, I've been seeing this doc for about 15 years and I rarely ask for any type of prescription. I generally dont like to put anything in my body that isn't neccesary, hence the fact that I'm 40 years old and never done a cycle. Never felt there was a need before because I've always been able to accomplish what I wanted naturally without help. Now days the fat comes off alot slower than in the past and the gains just arent what they used to be. My usual yearly routine was work out for 6 months in the winter, look pretty good by spring and slack all summer and fall. Dosent work anymore, now I work out all year and cant get back to what I used to get in 6 months.

not really sure, all the calculators give me different readings, I'm 6'2", 200lbs, right on the nose. 17 1/2" neck, 34" waist, My best weight is about 185, I look very slim and lean at that weight. My scale at home tells me 23% bf but I dont think that's right, the online calc's all tell me between 13-14%. I think somewhere in the middle is probably correct around 18%.

so....basically I am guessing you are waiting for your BW results? I suggest when you obtain them, to start a brand new thread in the hormone forum perhaps or HRT advice....or if a cycle then the anabolic forum...I am stlll not clear which you prefer to do though...replacement therapy or a cycle?

Well, I came here to learn how to do a cycle and found out about TRT for over 40 men. I wanted to get a physical and blood work done anyway before I did a cycle so I figured I get the testosterone levels done also. I'm not really sure which is better for me, I guess it will depend on what my test comes back as but I am leaning towards doing a cycle because I'm not sure I want the lifetime commitment part of TRT, at least not yet. But If my test really is low then maybe it's time for that road.

i am over 50 now and the only cycle I've done was S4, i did a blood test and my test was in the upper 300s/lower 400s, basically in midrange. i also considered TRT because i wanted more, i wanted to look like a body builder, so after the blood work results the doc said i am not ready. I'm kind of glad i didn't qualify for TRT because it is a life commitment after all and that comes with few sides as well. the more I read here the pros and cons i decided as longs as my liver is holding its own i like to keep it as natural as possible. in the avatar i weighed 205 and now i weigh 190, i know it took a long time for me to loose fat and put some muscle on, but at the end its all worth it. i would give anything to be 40 again!!! good luck with everything bro!

I had my test checked and was looking to get on trt but readings came back too high. complained about a variety of Sx and dr put me on an anti-depressant and gave me a prescription of viagra, and told me he could also refer me to a psychologist. NOT what I was looking for.

I'm running my first test cycle (other compounds included), 500mg of test cyp per week and let me tell you, screw those doctors. I feel like I'm 17 again lol Aside from the rapid increase in putting on muscle mass in the past 3 weeks I've been on, my libido went through the roof a couple days ago. My wife is now calling me "her 17 yo superman". God bless test!

Got my blood results back today. My test came back 202 so I guess I'm going on T for the rest of my life. It's actually a little bit scary. I've always been the kind of person who didnt like to put any substances in my body and for YEARS i was so dead set against AAS. Now I have to look at it a little different. Still waiting on the results for free testosterone but 202 is pretty low.

Looking at it differently sure will help. Just think of test therapy as merely replacing what you have lost. Keep in mind that human beings have not lived this long for many many years....so to support and continue your optimal best, trt sure helps!

I def agree with Slimmer Me and bass, besides u can always ask the dr. about a trial run and how that can be managed safely to get ur reg test to kick back in if u don't like it. I can't for the life of me see how u won't though. I bought my dad a few books about trt and hrt and the health benefits, etc before we had a major falling out a few months ago. He told me he bought some otc stuff to appease me, my hope is he would go for a trt route for a happier, healthier life in his golden yrs.

From my extremely limited knowledge of trt I would def go the test cyp route rather than a test patch or creme if ur dr is gonna give u that, but ur a grown man and obviously seem more than capable of making ur own decisions. Just offering input from my limited perspective.

I am for sure going to do it. No way I'm not going to if the treatment is available to me. I was a little surprised that my test was that low though. I mean I do experience some symptoms of low T but none of them are really extreme except for maybe lack of sleep. I dont sleep much anymore and and I could honestly say the mental sharpness is not what it was a few years ago, I do feel "foggy" much more frequently. Other than that most of my symptoms are mild, so i am a little surprised. Although I guess the increased BF% is a sign also.

Noting that you are the kind of person who does not want to put substances in your body, then it might be a good idea for you to start with a basic testosterone hormone therapy program like Androgel ED....not injections...and see how you feel. A friend of mine started HRT and he feels so much better simply on compounded test cream alone... he is not a BB in any stretch of the imagination... my .02

Go for it! I think you'll not regret it. You commented about my test level being 280 at my age of 65. The clinic I'm going to said we need to get that reading up to between 1000 and 2000!!!
In December I will have my first blood test since I began TRT in June. 'Am interested as to what six months of TRT has done to my test level, as well as other markers. It seems to me I noticed the most dramatic changes during the first ten weeks, then a leveling off. I have lost body fat, especially around my waist (down from 35" to 32"). The biggest change, other than a sudden gain in muscle and strength, is that my body is more sculpted, more muscle definition. I have become the envy of many of the younger guys at my gym, many of whom have come to me and asked what was going on.
Using that extra energy that TRT provides, I just hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim, using my first social security checks to finance the hike.
Good luck in your TRT! Hope it does for you what it has done for me.
