460lb deadlift
My dad once deadlifted 460lbs!
He used to do chins with 90lbs between his legs!
He had 16" arms, was 5'6" and could even do a maltese cross!
I think these things sound amazing, I'm sure other people have done similar things, but have they done this?
He told people at work that he could rip a telephone directory into quarters, so everyone took bets, and he did it!!! His grip strength was absolutely amazing.
What does everyone think of this?

i can rip a phone book in half if i have enough time, its alot about technique as well as strength. Sounds like you have a very impressive father.

i wish i could do chins w/ 90lbs between my legs for reps! haha i have a hard time doing 12 w/ my own bodyweight but i got reaall slow....but i can do a 500lb deadlift

a maltese cross is what you see the gymnasts do on the rings. I think its the regular one where they have their arms outstretched and feet pointed towards the floor but its probably the other versioun where the body is held parallel to the floor.

I know that the iron cross is feet to the floor. I'm gonna guess that maltese cross is parallel.

To rip a phone book in half you scrunch the pages together and tear it when the pages make a football type shape, dont know how else to describe it. I saw a dude on tv do it.

Yeah I can deallift a lot but as far as
grip strenth i suck but im still the **** though.

I can deadlift 460/8 but I'm trying to get it so I dont need wrist straps. But as far as pullups with 90 pounds or the maltese cross goes, **** that, you'd find my ass dead.
