how much cardio do you do in a 'cutting' phase?

'How much' is solely relative to what you normally do v.s. what volume you can plausibly tolerate before it starts to be too taxing on the CNS, thus curtailing your overall efforts.

I don't do cardio offseason... rather, i've never done it consistently.

Namely because my diet offseason isn't overboard.

I don't 'bulk up' in the conventional fat-ass sense.

If i used to overeat as some do, I'd be doing cardio 5 days a week.. like some top amateurs have to.

    It's all relative.

I do cardio regardless. 3x a week 45min in the am on an emply stomach. Keeps the BF under 10% and the ol ticker healthy.

Also helps with insulin responce. It's definitely a good idea to do a little HIIT for about 20 min once/twice a week if nothing else for that simple reason.

So does: increasing dietary fiber; High-intensity training; and carb-cycling.

All in all it boils down to the individual, his tolerance for additional exertion, and goals.

I would do cardio about 30-45 minutes roughly three days a week. Stick to the bike if you are worried about loseing muscle. If your diet is clean and high in protein it will help with shedding fat.

I'm with all the guys that say you should do cardio even when building mass, not too much, around 30mins 3 x a week. Your hearts gonna need to work harder when you put on weight so do your heart and yourself a favour and do some cardio, you don't wanna be out of breath from walking up a couple flights of stairs do you?
