Sauna good for cutting fat?
25 years old
202lbs
6ft
12% BF
3 years at the gym
4 cycles to date
Im going to be doing 45 mins or cardio first thing in the morning and 30 minutes after my workout, which is at night time.
Our gym has a sauna and im trying to cut some fat for this trip im going on in april.
I was just wondering, does anyone find a sauna good for cutting up?
If yes, when is the best time to hit the sauna and how many times a week and how long would u stay in the sauna?

Unless you are a boxer or MMA fighter and are trying to cut weight before a fight, just stay out of the sauna..all the hairy fat guys like to sit in there anyway

I friggin love the sauna - sure, it's not going to cut fat. But, after a good hard week of training there's not much better than 20-30 minutes @ 200 degrees.
IMMUNE SYSTEM: When you get sick and get a fever your body produces more white blood cells, which aid in attacking 'bad things" in yor body; viruses, etc. By giving yourself an "artificial fever," you stimulate your body into increasing white blood cell production.
I'm no scientist, that's just what I've read in the past.

Sauna can be good for your skin and sweating out some toxins. But it won't help you lose fat. Don't be fooled if you look a little tighter when you get out, its just water weight you lost and it will come back.
Speaking of which, I wouldn't do it after a cardio workout because you'll already be dehydrated.

ive heard this for years - and personally think its BS. The twisted analogy comes from the fact that the body fights infection by increasing body temp. The sauna artifically does this so they made the connection that it may help assist immune function by accomplishing the same thing. If thats the case id think the medical community would have been onto this years ago ....JMO...

Typically i don't drink fluids during cardio. Wait till after. It just doesn't sound like a good idea to me to subject yourself to intense heat after a cardio workout. If your body has just been stressed with exercise you want to let it begin recovery and be able to supply nutrients to those areas that need them. Not spending energy cooling itself.

By all means use the sauna, but use it for what its good for, thats cleaning out the pores of the skin (if you use the sauna correctly).
I am sure you get the idea from all the answers above,,, not for fat reduction
