Lifting speed: Fast, regular, or slow?
Hello all,
I usually do my reps at regular speed, however I have in the past done them fast when I was trying to develop power (strength + speed). Sometimes I let the weights come down slow and explode up. I was wondering if anyone has any opinion on the matter of speed. And if doing the reps slowly has helped them build muscle.
Is the best option to incorporate a mixture or mix things up now and then to shock the muscles?
Not sure about the physiology of slow vs fast and subsequent neurogenic/myogenic effects, if anyone has any info on this it would be very useful to my myself and other community members.
