    Qaud lifts?

    Hey guys,

So what's some good lifts for quads?

Except squats. I do squats but for some reason I have a really hard time making them intense. Just don't like them.

So basically what I'm already doing. Cool thanks

I rotate lunges in every other week to failure at the end. Everything else is 5x5.

I think I just need to force more intensity with all of it.

Do u think it would be a bad idea to add a day of quads and arms? Right now I do 4 days.

    Chest, triceps
    Legs, abes
    Back, biceps
Shoulders, traps ( traps only if I feel I didn't hit them very well on back day.)

if you work your legs right you won't have much left in the tank also on leg press I like to do more reps hit training doesn't have to be sets of five it's just going to fail and then beyond

Ok. Pritty much just suck it up and make it more intense. No problem. Any suggestions on sqauts? For some reason I just don't get into that groove when doing them. Maybe make them more into a warm up and then hit the other lifts hard?

Different ppl respond differently to squats. You say you doing 5x5. Try to do high reps and see how that works. Try 20 reps, some ppl don't respond well to low rep squats but instead respond well to high reps. Could be your problem. Try breathing squats also.

5x5 is for strength, or newbie gains. Sure you can do 1 set of squats at about 5-6 reps, but you need to follow it with a breathing squat set.

On most legs days, all I do is squat and extensions for quads, can barely drive home afterwards. Of course, I dont do 5 rep sets of extensions.

I absolutely LOVE iso-lateral leg presses on the HAMMER STRENGTH machine.

Quads are probably my weakest body part and the lifts that have helped me the most are:
    1. front squats
    2. high volume back squats
    3. rear foot elevated split squats
    4. step-ups

What made my legs explode were high reps. Everyone is different so you will have to experiment. My squats were 5 sets of 20 with 60-90 seconds rest between sets. That alone will bring you to your knees if you don't cheat yourself.
