Legs
Recovering from rather extensive knee surgery over a month ago and due to age and nature of surgery rehab is very slow. Unable to do any leg routines which load the knee.
Physical therapy has me doing weighted straight leg raises and weighted straight leg holds, as well as weighted leg abductions to stop/reverse atrophy in quads. Range of motion slowly coming back.
Question is, are there any leg routines that will promote growth, albeit minimal, in quads that do not require loading the knee? Can I up the weight on the straight leg raises and approach like normal sets (6-10 reps per set to failure, etc.)?
Any suggestions?
I look like a walking ad for skinny jeans...either that or like I have been in a wheel chair for a year. Had 1-2 months of knee probs prior to surgery which precluded lifting also. Crazy how quickly muscle can go away when underutilized.

I imagine leg curls since it's kind of opposite of positive flexion of the knee I.e pulling leg back instead of kicking . Or ham and glute extensions since Your rest on your quads and not the knees.again it's a reveres flexion of the knee. abduction and Aduction other then that it's hard to do legs without loading the knees. Maybe flex your quads super hard on and off to activate the fibers

If you had knee surgery just a month ago you need to only do what the pt and doctor recommend. Anything else could have an adverse effect on healing. Give it time and heal correctly.
