Confession: I rarely ever do cardio
I used to be a cardio bunny. I'd run 35+ miles on the treadmill a week (5-6 days) but since I discovered strength training and started seeing muscle development, I stopped my cardio bunny ways. It's crazy to think that once I LOVED running 5-6 miles a day and now I absolutely DREAD cardio. I feel like it's not really affecting my results since I am still losing weight while also, more importantly, seeing results building muscle. I've become obsessed with building as much muscle as I can. Not wanting to me MS Olympia or anything but I guess I am content with my focus on strength training. I feel a little guilty for not doing cardio since I know people are huge advocates for it... Anyone else not really do cardio?? Every now and then I'll throw it in my routine but it's like once or twice a month for 15-30 mins max hahahaha

Guilty as well.
I only do cardio as warm up,
and now I've started fencing again so I get some cardio there.
Funny thing is that cardio improves very fast.
I just want my heart to be healthy,
otherwise I see no need for cardio at all actually.
Keep lifting!

I make my lifts into my cardio. Always have. I am usually sweating lots by the end of my lifts. I just super set most workouts and don't take breaks. So I lift heavy and burn fat!
I love a good boot camp hiit class though. Haven't done them this round at all. I will never run again. I used to be like you. Ran 6 miles daily and lifted heavy.
No more!!! I used to be scared of carbs too. Not anymore

Also guilty, that's why I joined Orange Theory Fitness so my flabby arse is forced to run.

I used to run 8-12 miles a day, but had some issues develop and started lifting and dropped running. There was nothing like an uber long trail run for me, but once I started lifting I started to really not like cardio. I still try to do it 4 times a week (prior to jacked up post-op knee issues now dealing with since Jan) 20-30 min as I feel better with my lifts but it feels like it tries to eat away at what little gains I get (may just be psychological) in mass (I don't gain mass or strength easily at all, but do gain bf very easily). I force myself to do it so I can enjoy a hike or outdoor activity with my gf without getting winded and also to help with HDL a bit, but if I could I would forego it completely.

I used to a lot of cardio before i started weights 2 years ago, now I hardly do cardio because after a 1 hr to 1.5 hours of doing heavy weights I don't have the time or energy to fit even 20 mins of cardio in. I used to do HIIT training but stopped. I need to try to fit in cardio into my routine because I need to lose fat. I take the stairs a lot at work though, depending if I'm tired or not from a good nights sleep etc and how my knee's feel that day.
