Dont let your Legs fall behind!!
i am def one who passed up on to many leg workouts in the past. focusing on how big i can get my upper body i didnt care too much about my legs so i only did just enough leg workouts to maintain some muscle. well since i havnt been able to walk for 3 weeks now because of knee surgery and havnt been able to actually run in 2 months, it makes you think. right now my quad on my bad leg is smaller then what my biceps were when i was lifting. my message basically is to the other guys like me who know they dont focus on legs as much as they do their arms, and chests. Work your legs! you dont realize how important that is until you actually cant use them!..i can guarantee once im back to the gym in the next couple months my legs are going to eventually be one of my best features!. i will eventually have before and after pictures to prove this. this surgery def has me looking at things differently...
just my thoughts because i know there are many others like me who dont give the wheels enough work.

im training legs today, first time in about a month, properly atleast (i hope). had some knee problems, nowt major, but enough to make me need to rest them. anyway, did deads on monday, with no knee discomfort, so am gonna go light on the squats today. ive been training my legs religiously for afew years, and they havent responded the way my upper body does. i started training at age 12, didnt pay any attention to legs, was all upper body work really, and i think this primed my upper body for growth, hence the present day imbalance. TRAIN YOUR LEGS! you will learn to love it!

Go High rep....like 30. Make them *uckers burn. Once you get the muscle/nerve connection up the weight.
Think about it lots of slow twich, fibers there. Calves basically lift your 200lb frame all day long.

when ever my legs weaken a bit, i can't stand it.
If i'm tired and get talked into going out, i have a hard time keeping up with my friends, and if its like a house party i find myself sitting on the couch cause i just wanna rest. no pop in em..
got to have strong legs, to have pop stamina to be able to do things, heavy upper body takes a toll on the legs imo

legs are a must in my book. when training off-cycle, working legs is a great natural test booster. additionally, having stronger legs allows you to put upper body mass on easier. the reasoning behind this is that as your lower body is capable of supporting more weight, your body in general is more comfortable adding more upper body mass cause the support is there for it.
another thing as well is the "huge upper body and toothpick legs/calves" look is just such a joke IMO. i swear they look like earthworm jim sometimes.

I actually was talking to a friend earlier this year and everyone was like "you're so big etc etc" I jokingly told him he was "half big" cuz he had toothpic legs and a huge upperbody

I never neglected the legs, but never worked them as hard as my upper body workouts. The past 6 months my legs have come a long way. I recently began training quads and hammies seperately (inspiration from Carlos in a differetn thread), calves is another story. Genetics dealt me some twigs, but I destroy them at least 2x a week. I don't think I'll ever hit 200 without my legs. Squat on bros!
