Killer application is making calls. Visual voicemail allows random access voicemail for direct access. Quad-band GSM/Edge phone. Includes WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. Has SMS, calendar, cntacts, etc. Scroll through contact list with finger, then display all contact info. Touch phone number to automatically. Jobs makes first public phone with iPhone to Jonathan Ive. User screen shows controls when call waiting comes in. The keynote is still going. It's being announced right now and no price has been stated yet.

What exactly would Bluetooth 2.0. be?
Im assuming it has MMS capability as well as SMS?
Being EDGE and quad band phone are definitly nice, yet 2.0 megapixels I find weak.

Bluetooth 2.0 is the standard bluetooh you have on the new laptops. Stereo bluetooth is version 2.0.

Congrats for the raise. Do you work for apple or just a very satisfied customer? I think they have great products, yet for some reason I find they look cheap in quality, in terms of design and materials. This phone looks interesting, does it have any integrated functions as in MP3 player or any thing else?

Apple is no longer Apple Computer. They change the name to Apple, Inc. They're no longer just a computer company.

Cisco has claimed ownership of the iPhone mark for the past ten years and stated today that it plans to use the name as part of a larger strategic vision concerning networked homes.

so this will not be the name of the phone...

If that isn't the name then someone needs to update Apple's site.

    CNN LINK

There was some question as to whether Apple would be able to use the iPhone name for the device. But Cisco Systems (down $0.13 to $28.50, Charts), which owns the rights to the iPhone name, said Tuesday it expects to reach agreement with Apple later Tuesday on using the name for its device.

"Given Apple's numerous requests for permission to use Cisco's iPhone trademark over the past several years and our extensive discussions with them recently, it is our belief that with their announcement today Apple intends to agree to the final documents and public statement that were distributed to them last night and addressed a few remaining items," Cisco said in a statement obtained by CNN. "We expect to receive a signed agreement today."

I wonder how much Apple will pay Cisco for each phone sold.

The 4Gig model will go for $499 and the 8Gig model will go for $599.00. I work for AT&T and we own Cingular. AT&T (including the old Cingular) will be the exclusive US Carrier for Apple's new iPhone. THis is according to an e-mail that I just received from AT&T management. The phone will be available on both the Cingular and Apple website in the months to come.
