The Stanley is nice (its in Estes) but after seeing the Shining...it gives me the creeps! I spent Valentines Day up there two years ago, and couldnt relax, cuz I kept thinking of that damn movie!

If youre trying to escape tourists, then stay away for Estes Park (where the Stanley is located) A bunch of fat Nebraskans taking pictures of elk and eating salt water tafffy....no thanks! The Hotel is a pretty neat place...it'd be worth staying the night in, and then checking out Rocky Mountain National Park (located in Estes) but definitely a tourist trap!
