Terry Crews is great, but as a Johnny-Come-Lately we can't count him...no longevity. But he'll be force in the future.

Brad Pit only changed (significantly) when he added weight to portray Achilles in 'Troy'. And though always fit, is he really big enough to count???

    Ed Norton is flimsy!
There was obviously gear involved in his "Amer. Hist. X" role, but he's since reverted to wimp status.

Carrot Top would be a contender...but he's never in anything! The guy only has 3 credits: The Aristorcrats ('05); Chairman of the Board; and Dennis the Menace Strikes Again (both in '98) and I might add both predate his conversion.

McConaughey, Cruise, Diesel and Sly are the only legit contenders so far.

Funny no one mentioned Wesley Snipes..."Frrrrrrrrrrrrrost!"

Itd be interesting to see how many top hollywood stars have run gear for their roles. Wonder if pitt ever used something like clen or winny to harden him up for 'fight club' or other movies where he's be shredded.

What about the guys in 300? They got kinda big and very ripped in a very short period of time. I find it hard to believe they could do that natural in a few months. What do you think?

They were training for quite a while with some top level trainers, but i would lean toward some kind of performance enhancement. Gerard Butler was sure ripped as hell for the movie though

Ed Norton got fairly jacked for American History X but I've seen him lately and he's skinny again

I forgot about Snipes, he's been about the same size as long as I can remember. Him and Sly both looked big for Demolition man

I still think Carrot Top has changed the most and kept his size. He was on the roast of Flava Flav and still looked like a dieseled drag queen

Two come to mind, Michael Clark Duncan, 6'5", 320+ lbs. Huge, powerful man.

The other is also an actor but can't think of his name at the moment, Joe something, he had legal issues fighting for his kid against his ex-wife.

meh....Carrot Top isn't really that big and he is a homo. Vin Diesel is only like 185 lb. but looks pretty good cause he is pretty cut up.

    I say 50 Cent.....

50 cent looks out of proportion and like he has a little gyno ... as far as performers go, LL Cool J looks good.

LL is has kept it up for a long-ass time

Carrot Top is a douche but I have to admire his transformation from when he first came out and then kept it up all the way till now. That guy was real skinny when he first started doing comedy

On the internet movie data base web sight they quote edward norton stating that he gained 30lbs in three months for american history x by working out 4 hours a day and eating protein drinks, and roast beef blended into something like tomato juice.

Definitely count Christian Bale, he trains seriously and it shows. Did anyone see his emaciated frame in 'The Machinist'? He was so frail I expected Sally Struthers to come on the screen asking for money. I had to go online to verify that it was him, which it was, because it looked like maybe someone transposed his head onto a crackhead.

LL. Cool J. has been rocked every since he got beat down on the street by Eric B., of the rap duo 'Eric B. and Rakim' back in the spring 1987. Prior to that LL. sang about his radio in 'Radio' 1955. After the beat down, which I heard about from Rakim's own lips (via the radio), LL's music clearly reflected his newly steroidal body and violence-laden outlook:
    1987: Bigger and Deffer
    1989: Walking with a Panther
1990: Mama Said Knock You Out
1993: 14 Shots to the Dome

    I'd also add Billy Blanks!

50cent is still too new...no longevity!

ARNOLD...firstly the list is supposed to be contemporary, secondly as the arguably the greatest bb'er of all time, he really shouldn't count. But c'est la vie, Arnold too!

carrot top is huge dude. check out the flavor flav roast, man is far from medium sized and you can see it through his jacket. add to the fact that he is super shredded and it makes a world of difference.

Yeah but look at him standing next to Chris Angel from MINDFREAK and he doesn't look THAT big. He is ripped I will give you that. I guess he just doesn't seem that big to me.

Vin Diesel's weight fluctuates quite a bit.

I read somewhere to get down to the weight he was for the Machinist he only ate an apple and a tin of tuna, a day, for 3 months. Hasnt he got some sort of record because he got back up to 220 pounds a year later for Batman?
