I don't eat a meal unless at least one portion of it has once had a name.
I prefer to eat food that is capable of winking at me.Last edited by Rugger02; 02-10-2009 at 07:45 PM.

The real problem with steak is that I always order a real steak like a porterhouse or a tbone. Figure 12-16oz. Wow that's easily 1000-1300 calories. Who ever just eats a steak? You got to have garlic butter mashed potatoes. Yum! Thats another 400 - 600 calories. Holy crap if I am gonna have steak and potatoes I got to have some wine and not just one or two glasses...
Steak = 2000+ calorie meal.

I go thru about 16oz of 93% lean gb and 16 oz of lean sirloin a week. No shortage on red meat in my diet. chicken/tuna/salmon/turkey/eggs are the only other protein sources I use.
I would love to get more variety in my diet, shrimp sounds to be a good idea. duck/gator/lamb stuff like this I have no way in knowing how to even get that lol. What are some other good ones you guys use

red meat is obviously high in protein but also contains zinc which is essential for a healthy immune system, iron, b-vits, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. the downfall is its very high in cholesterol and saturated fat and can increase your risk for colorectal, esophageal and liver cancer, plus heart disease and arthrites along with many other things. personally i love filets and NY strips but i limit my consumption to once a month and get my protein, creatien and vitamins from other sources with less sat. fat
