Yes, like some of you, I am a son of the south. South Carolina to be exact!! But I am a black man from the south. Let me rephrase that, I am a mixed man from the south (1/2 white). Both my parents are mixed and I had two uncles lynched because of the color of their skin in South Carolina in 1978. Whether or not you idiots can recognize it or not, the confederate flag stands for oppression, Jim Crowe, and the systematic dehumanization of an entire race that still exists in some parts of the south today.

Like the Nazi flag that instilled racial pride in Germans and Aryans across the globe, the Confederate flag stands for the same. But it also comes with a terrible history of rape and murder. So before you tell me to stop whining, look my grandmother in her face and tell that to her after her sons were swinging from a tree off a dirt road. Tell that to my father, a decorated vet (2 bronze stars, and a silver) star who fought for this country before he and our people had the right to vote. Tell that to my grandfather who was part of a all black tank regiment that was one of the first regiments to enter Paris during the liberation, who was treated better by the French than his own country. That is what the Confederate flag represents to us. Like it or not, its offensive and I would stand up for a Jew or Pole who complained about a Nazi flag as would most of you, so why is this any different?

Another member had a Nazi symbolism as part of his avatar (PanzerFaust I do believe) and he had it removed. I didn't see any of you fVcks demanding he put it back up!!!

Furthermore please explain to me why the Nazi flag and the confederate flag don't both symbolize similar racist/superiority rhetoric? If the Confederate flag doesn't symbolize racism then why is it used by every southern racist group? Did the south not succeed for from the union partly because of the issue of slavery. After Reconstruction did the south not continue to fly the flag as it instituted Jim Crowe laws and sanctioned murder of blacks by local law enforcement?

Every flag I can think of has some nasty history of intolerance behind it. Calling this guy out for his is pointless and immature. Maybe your grandfather, who served in a segregated Army and was treated better on foreign soil can explain to you that our flag has more crimes committed in it's honor than that garish orange thing ever will.
