Abortion
What are everyones opinions on abortion. A few years back the GF and I had a pregnancy scare which turned out to be nothing. We were young and certainly not prepared for a baby and before she even took a pregnancy test the idea of an abortion came up and it was entertained as a valid option. Now being much older and mature I have a completely different outlook on abortion, I think it is wrong with the exception of a baby conceived from rape. Plus I am now officially an uncle. My sister is a young parent and she did the right thing by keeping the baby and doing everything she can to be a good parent. Just wanted to hear what some peoples opinions were on the subject

Fine mother, if you want a honest opinion:
I am for it but with clauses.
Yes examples:
Raped
Are very young (under 18)
No examples:
One person just doesn't want the child
Both of you had sex and need to accept the responsibility of your actions. Doesn't matter of you want to stay with the mother/father afterwards but you are legally required to care for that child (emotionally/financially) until the child is 18.

The only way I would allow abortion is if both the man and woman involved were taken out and shot in the face with a shotgun. And that's all I have to say about that.

My stance is abortion should be legal, but you shouldn't use them as birth control. There are certain people who should not have children, and unfortunately they are the people who get pregnant most often. If you are not capable of providing for a child, for whatever reason, you should not have one. If you are too stupid to avoid getting pregnant, abortion might be your only option. The world is over populated and if human procreation goes unchecked, we will run out of natural rescources.
A part of me still feels guilty about the embryo that I created that was aborted 17 years ago. But the logical part of my mind knows that that child would not have had any chance in life.

No morning after pill when I was a kid.
I think you mean sorry about the baby's luck. The number one indicator of poverty in the U.S. is teen pregnancy. If kids have kids it is a virtual guarantee that both parents and child will live a life of poverty. Life of poverty often leads to life of crime. Personally I don't want to live in a society where abortions aren't allowed. As far as I know the U.S. is the only developed nation where this is still debated.

God this is a thread that is probably going to turn nasty and personal fast.
I'm Pro-Choice over Pro-Life, always have been, always will be. A woman has the right to do what she wants. Whether anyone agrees with her is irrelivant, it's her body. No one should have the right to tell another human being what they can and cant do with their body.
Laws on abortion need to be readjusted. For instance these career women that get knocked up and abort because it's getting in the way of their career, that's ****ed up. Personally I think there should be laws on aborting but only in certain situations.
Take for example a 13 year old girl that has been brutally raped. Should she be forced to go through pregnancy because of that experience? No way.
I can see how women could have a say in this matter, but I dont think any man have any say in what a woman can and cant do with her body.
