I got pulled over going 32 mph over the speed limit
I live in Florida and this will be my first ticket (amazing considering the amount of speeding I do), I got pulled over by a state trooper when I was on a road in the outskirts of my city.
So now I have to go to court because they consider it reckless driving, (I knew i should have slowed down by 10mph).
So I was wondering will I get my license taken away? And how much will the ticket/court cost me (rough estimate)?
This ****ing blows because I just f'd my insurance up...

The motha****er came out of no where, I know basically were all teh cop hiding spot are in my town and he was in one of those spots, but the fact was he was a state trooper and not a regular cop so his black car blended in since the road is completely black and I was switching to another lane when I saw him but it was too late by then.
I am so pissed because the night was already going bad and than the asshole gave me a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt, I am like really man way to shit on my night even more you piece of shit.
If it was a regular cop I could have gotten off with a warning the asshole should have given me a warning, I have never been pulled over before.

they are going to order you to go to driving school and whatnot, you shouldn't have your license taken away just yet.
I also live in florida and got a ticket this morning on the way to the gym, in my freakin sub division and I was only going 37mph, in a 25mph zone so that's a nice 4 point $200 ticket for me.

I got a reckless driving for going 105+ about 6 years ago. It was in the county that gives out the stiffest penalties in the country, and here's what I got hit with-
Restricted license for a month (only drive to work and school)
Around $800 fine
40 hours of community service
After paying all fees I think it cost me close to a grand, but I don't really remember all the details. If it's your first time in court hopefully they will be a little easier on you.

DAMN!!!! I was busted right here in Tampa doing 38 in a school zone of 15 mph two years ago. The cop ran my license and came back and said that since i hadn't had a ticket in 14 years and i drove for a living, he was cutting the ticket to 120.50 from 370.00. I didn't even have my seatbelt on and he didn't say a word about it. But i did get 3 points for just paying the fine and not going to their dumb ass school for 4 hours. I consider myself lucky.

So everyone agrees there is no way I am getting prision time for this?
Because that sounds absoultely retarded, I have no criminal history or pull overs on my license so I should be good.

almost anything says you can gt jail time. If you got speeding that fast and reclace you could loose your licence.

In NY they can revoke your license for 40+ over the speed limit, you'd have to check your laws down there to see if they differ.
But I can almost guarantee you will get hammered unless you have friends in the court system.

My dad got me a 04 SVT cobra when I turned 16, I got 2 racing tickets with in a month, my mom and dad got me a lawyer, needless to say, I only ended up with a 1 point ticket, and a 2 point ticket, so I had 1 point left.
1 broken head lamp
2 10mph over the speed limit
300$ fine
they offered a class and they would reduce my 10mph over ticket to a 1 point, but I declined.
the lawyer was 300$.
so 600$ and 3 points, not too bad.
I was told by my mom and dad, the insurance did not go up too much, since they lowered the final charge down from 30 points to 3.Last edited by Exiled; 05-31-2009 at 10:31 AM.

I was pulled over in florida 2 years ago...... i was driving back to sarasota from universal studios. I was doing 86 in a 70mph zone and the state trooper got me LOL...... He was a new cop with a supervisor riding in the car w/ him. He gave me a 200 something dollar ticket and either 2 or 4 points...... i had to log online and take a stupid defensive driving class to drop the points.
I'm just lucky i never got caught speeding when i had my mustang..... i raced a corvette and topped at 150mph....... the speedlimit here in jersey is 65mph on most highways..... LOLOLOL i was 85mph over the 65mph limit! I think the jersey troopers would have shot me on the spot.....
good luck man - when you goto court..... they will probably drop the charge to careless driving. If they don't..... thats one hell of a judicial system you guys have down there LOL

Well I talked to a friend of mine who was caught going 34 mph over the speed limit and he told me he went to court and paid 310 dollars and had to take the driver course and the points still went on his record.
He had 2 tickets before that, and I have none so I thought I could pay the 310 and take the driver course and not get the points on my record.
It's 4 points by the way.

I got pulled over by Illinois state for doing 87 in a 55 through a construction zone with no seatbelt and all I got was a warning. We were on our way back from Chicago and I told him I had to be back in time to get to work or I would be fired and I wasn't wearing my seatbelt cuz of my sunburn. Not sure if he bought that story but it worked.
