I do 20 x's 2 every single day except Saturday and Sunday. I can provide testament that pull ups are a great overall movement. On cardio days I even try to add in another 20 at the very end of my workout but usually only bang out 10-12. The more you do pull ups the more total you can knockout. I'm @ 6'1" at 214 lbs as of this past Sunday. If you can only do 5 though you need to start adding those in at some point...Just my opinion!

You must be getting old brother!! I've been lucky thus far, no shoulder issues to speak of. The only thing that will slow me down is if I start getting a cramp in my lats and those her like a biatch. My wife actually does them with me and she can bang out 8-10 dead hang pullups. It's funny to watch all of the guys in the gym watch her do them..They all stand there with a "wtf" look on their faces.

ive been slacking on training and diet since i moved to my new house, but when my back was a lil stronger a couple months ago i would hang 70lbs(a 45 and a 25) and do 8. without any weight it is so easy i could pump out 20-25 easily. (this of course is with straps) and i weight 170.

3 sets of 6-8 reps with 30-40lbs of chain. I'm at about 295lbs rt now. I've done 12 before at 305 but haven't tried a max out set. I only do them after I pull or clean.

I used to do 'em daily as well.
I think I agree with you... re: the more you do, the more you're able to do.
My former coach made me chin every time I stepped in the gym... both pull-ups to front and behind-the-neck.
Hm... maybe it's time I went back to that.
I could use another inch or two of width.

Im still in my twenties so I aint that old yet...LOL
I think its spawns from the fact that I used to do weighted pull ups forever. Or that I have had multiple shoulder injuries from baseball and MMA practice, one or the other...
That is pretty kick ass about your wife she must be really fit. I dont know If I have seen too many women be able to do that many pull ups.

In school I did 30 100% legal from a dead hang. It was the school record for a few years. I never practiced them though and only did them for testing day.
Now I can only do about 15 but that still isnt bad considering I weigh 40+ more lbs.

Being natural still, I do 18 frontally, 13 in the back and 10 upside down.
Usually, I do them only when working-out my back.

I actually had a contest at work the other day with another friends whos into bb. We're both basically the same exact height, weight and size.
And its funny cause we both burned out at exactly 14.
Which pissed me off cause I use to do nothing but pull ups back in the day.

So do you think that doing pull ups everyday could actually be beneficial for adding back-width?
This winter when I'm going to be on a lean-mass diet I'm going to try to bring my back and chest up to match the rest of my body.
So if pull ups everyday would benefit me, I'd definitely start doing them.

I get bored after 30. A better question is "how many can you do with one arm, unassisted?" The answer to that is only one.
