It started with the disc not reading, kept saying open tray. Well i can tap the top while its reading the disc and usually make it load. Tonite its not. Then it does the red circle every once in a while. Sometimes it will not boot past the xbox 360 screen, when i pop the hard drive out it boots right up, still wont read the disc. I already ordered a new laser assembly for the reading issue, but looks like the HD may be shitting its insides out too.

Never got it to work. Hopefully changing out the laser assembly works.

Guess your's died on you too huh?
I got the red ring of death shortly after the warranty expired. Threw it in the recycling bin.
Bought my PS3 a few years ago and never looked back.

You need to do the oven trick. Yes it works.

If you dont want to do it that way here is another fix for the red/green ring of death.

No problems with the two I have, I also have a PS3 (which I prefer), but I have an older xbox 360 and I bought the newest model with the connect thing for Christmas. Never had a problem with any of them. I don't play them, my boys and their friends do.
