See kind of treading a fine line. My father in law refused my sister in law to see her boyfriend anymore, and she isn't the one dating someone that is questionably imo, it's the other girl that is 16 dating a 20 yr old. So she is 19 years old and being told who she can't date, I think it's stupid personally, if you want to dislike your daughter's boyfriend that's cool, and if you don't want him around you whatever, but telling an adult they can no longer see someone is a little ridiculous, especially when they don't have anything wrong with them other than his father cheated on his mother, it's a messed up situation.

Anyways that's my opinion on that, but don't want to get into the racial version of your question on this board.

I personally would have NO prob with it. I myself have dated many different races, religions. Im a white boy, I dated a girl whos parents werre refugees from afganistan(suni muslims), had to pick her up down the street and have her hide in car in case her dad saw. (I was early twenties she was 18 but still a senior in high school, yeah I know but she was HOT!) Dated a puetorican/cuban girl, her parents were okay but I could tell they werent crazy about it. I guess applies to all races/religions for some. Now what I do have an issue with is girls of any race who have an infatuation with a particulaar race and will date/sleep with anyone of that race and cant tell the okay ones from the scumbags, thats annoying!

Yeah the only issue I see is what the kids if they have any will face in public schools from bullies calling them names like half and half, and a whole lot worse. Kids can be cruel. One thing though is it seems anymore that most of the white girls are going for the black guys with the thug look or bad boy image. it's about culture, she's rejecting the life that her family has supplied and is seeking a different culture... i could care less what color he is if he has similar values as i do, if not, step off... life is too short to waste my time with people that do not value life as I do..

that does not mean i do not enjoy spending time with people of different cultures cause i've lived long enough to do all of that on many occassions and in different settins, so decissions and time spent with friends that share similar valuses with me is most enjoyable..

Really though, it depends on the brotha. I been raised racist to the max(I'm Russian, come on). But, that's just not the real world any more. I have a few close friends which are, black, Mexican, mixed and they are cool as shit.

Well I will take the bait and try to be completely honest here, first I am ok with my daughter going out with blacks (now at 24) but I can understand why people here in the US have problems with it.

I think in the US it gets rather more complicated than in europe. Due to fairly recent slavery and recent segregation and very recent non-equal treatment of blacks by whites. We the US people have a lot more issues than other countries in this regard. What I mean by this is that just like a large portion of whites are still racist a large portion of blacks are still struggling with racial identity. These problems manifest themselves in many ways in our society. As others have said in so many words ( respectful, values, etc ) as long as he was a well adjusted kid it would be OK. See the trouble is that at that age (young teens) many kids black or white are anything but well adjusted. Rather then spend most of their time rebelling against societal values and in the US much of this is centered around acting 'Ghetto' to use the term kids use. 90% of kids with these issues will soon outgrow them, but in the meantime lots of the young good looking black kids will be acting gansta, and saying things like they "Pulling all da white bichz day can" meantime the counterpart white girls reputations and often virginity will be fodder for this wannabe gansta media bullshit lifestyle. See at 14 many girls decisions about who they date has a lot more about who is percieved as cool than who is really the best candidate for a boyfriend.


So until the US can grow past this the problems with interacial dating of kids will not only be for racist parents but one for realists as well as many times you really do not know the kids that your 14 yr old daughter is dating. But for me I never said she could not and always acted open toward race and kept these concerns private as I knew well enough that forbidding something would likely backfire and that by being open I would have the chance to meet the kids and determine what they were about...and yeah my kid dated a spanish and later a black guy, fortunatly the one yoyo gangsta that she went out with a couple of times at that age I met and embraced his ignorant behavior, once she saw that he was eager to be my friend the whole gangsta thing died quick LOL and after talking with her about his probable future due to the path he was choosing she soon lost interest in him, we often laugh about it now!
