Corvette is indeed a dreamcar, from old to new models. Alot of looks and motor for prizes that are.....reasonable in most cases

I finally read through this thread. Good stuff.

Seems to me that brand loyalty and incorrect prejudice is keeping people from realizing these are all good cars that are designed for different things. They are all good at what they do, are designed for different groups of people and are all priced at what the market will bear.

I like the new Corvette (the last two generations, actually) because they are getting more serious about overall performance. I wouldn't own one because of my impression of the brand - much in the same way I wouldn't own one of the great new Cadillacs. They will need to change their target market in order for me to be the demo for those cars. Still, I pay attention to the Corvette now. I didn't used to.

It is always interesting to see car guys not appreciative of all cars. Hearing a car guy refer to a high end car as a "piece of shit" makes no sense to me. Hell, I even like cars that are known to be actual pieces of shit...like old Alfas or other cars with design, mechanical and rust problems. Oftentimes a car's flaws are what give it charm.

I would encourage anyone that thinks their car/brand is the best and everything else sucks to drive more cars! You won't be disappointed. How could a Porsche guy not get a kick out of driving a 650hp Corvette? Or the sound of an aging Lamborghini Diablo or Countach despite the fact that they couldn't beat a Z06 around a track, let alone a ZR1? If your friends weren't there to make fun of you I think you would even have fun driving the hell out of a slightly modded Miata. Pffft, I had fun driving a stock Miata on the curvy roads around Sedona with the top down. Driving my own beast would have been less enjoyable.

Working as a Nissan salesman I will have to say. At $105,000 the 545hp AWD GTR is absolutely SICK. I got to drive it from our inventory to the showroom and let me tell you... 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds is no freaking joke O_O I couldn't lift my head off the seat.
