Regarding a comment in another thread are you seriously eating a 65% protein diet at 4000 cals (ie. 650g protein)

I caught that, but didn't want to in the way of the debate. At the moment I am. I'm also consuming about 130g if fat and about 28g of carbs. I just changed it up. I was running closer to a 50/10/40 (p/c/f) split before. Got great results, just pushing the envelope right now actually. Seeing how I react, curious about its effects on liver and kidney function so I'll get those checked in a few weeks. In all honesty tho, I'll probably go back to the 50% range soon (which is still 500g). Noticing slight fat gains, even after just a few weeks.

Do you understand the process of gluconeogenesis in the absence of sufficient substrate to perform higher intensity activity (weight training)....

Look it up..... Your body is literally converting the protein your consuming into glucose so that you can perform whatever higher intensity efforts you make....

You DO NOT NEED TO GO HIGHER THAN 1.5g /lb of LBM.... Data just doesn't support the need for a higher intake.... And when on a 4k diet (surplus I'd imagine) you need less!

Dude, honestly this is stupid.... It is a very expensive way of consuming carbs if you get what I mean... Your giving your body no carbs and an excess of protein... The body NEEDS carbs to perform at higher intensities and it will get them via gluconeogenesis, which is the process of converting amino acids to glucose

I actually stand corrected! And I blame it on myself for trusting these damn programs...I know the values are correct because I added them into the library manually using nutritional value but it figures up the macro split...but is way the fvck off and honestly didn't give it a second thought...it'd been a few weeks since I looked at it and I had the split it gave me in my head...
My actual split is 54/44/4 (434p/49c/194f)((figured up manually). I eat the same thing every day so I apologize for the confusion on numbers lol after my last blast I changed it up but just took away some fats(bout 20g) and added protein(bout 50). Carbs stayed the same (carbs r in nuts and flax).

Do not need more then 1.5g/lbm for what? Muscle growth? I know...

It may b more expensive, but protein doesn't increase insulin levels near as much as carbohydrates, after the nitrogen molecule is stripped off of the proteins secreted as waste, and converted to glucose . Much longer and slower process, plus the additions of fatty acids is used as energy as well.

Do I have a list of studies to back it up? No, I've read thing, tried them and deciphered what works for me. I don't bother with saving the studies that so often contradict each other. I try thins and see how they work. If they work, I keep doing it. I eat carbs, I gain an exponential amount of fat. So I took them away.

I also answered ur first two questions above, tho they're not in bold...

If your gaining too much fat too quickly thats because your overall calories are set too high...

Whatever you want to do tho dude....

I've been at 4000 calories for about 14ish weeks now. I hadn't noticed fat gains (not much, but more so) since I upped my protein and decreased my fat intake.

Dude...if I ate 250g carbs id look like the fvckin Michelin Man!!! Before I started cutting carbs I would have bouts of hypoglycemia. I even went to the dr (waste if $) to see if he could run some kind of test to see if I was secreting too much insulin or something. I was eating splits like a 40/40/20, 50/30/20, etc. so I was getting good amounts of carbs throughout the day, mainly brown rice sweet potatoes etc and still getting low blood sugar. Since I cut my carbs to 10% or less I hadn't had one low blood sugar fit. I talked to my dad about it too because he gets low blood sugar fits too. And he says the only thing that causes them to go away and stay away is protein. I can't explain it, he can't, and none of the dr we went to could either. But apparently it's something genetic lol

Goddamn Tron, you are ****ing huge! I remember when I first joined this forum, and you were the first member to give me quality advice. That was only three months ago, but you've gotten huge since then. Good work. I am glad I took your advice because you clearly know what you are talking about. Keep up the good work!
