I got that scale too, it was like $35 on amazon if I remember right and came with a bunch of little weights to calibrate.

Hmm, mine did not come with all those weights. Just 2 of them and a pair of tweezers. But that's all you need to calibrate. That might be the extra cost.

Plus I got it so cheap on eBay. Seriously, 310 Bucks - Refurb with no pic, said it had a scratch on the LCD. The scratch is less than a 1/2" long on the bottom right corner. It's not noticeable while even off.

You got that right. We are dong some major remodeling/upgrading and I have made no less that 1 trip a day since the purchase. LOL I picked up 15, 4x8 sheets of sheetrock yesterday and 5 boxes of all purpose mud just to get started. I'm sure I will need double that before I'm done.
Tile and back splash shopping this week. Last week was all new Whirlpool stainless steel appliances. I think the refridgerator is big enough for a spare room. 30 cu ft. lol
