both sides to blame
this is a sad tale of escalation.
1. riders dominating highway, likely impeding cages (cars to riders) freedom to drive (my speculation, but certainly consistent with report).
2. rover guy gets pissed and yells obscenities (from press report).
3. rider gets pissed and slows down in front of rover (beginning of vid).
4. rover guy hits bike.
5. all bikers stop around rover, likely intimidation (second part my speculation).
6. rover guy over reacts and runs over a few bikes and 'gets away'.
7. bikers tail and follow off highway.
8. rover stops at stop light.
9. bikers get off bikes and smash window (end of vid).
10. bikers pull out father/husband and beat him in front of family.
my view. both sides share blame, hard to make real call here as both sides had opportunity to back off and neither did. good thing no one here had a gun or it probably would have ended worse. (dare i start a gun control thread here.. ;-))
i will say this about driving/road rage tho... i live in boston and travel a lot to NYC, Detroit, and SF. i've seen the broadest range of driving (from conservative to aggressive) in CA. nyc has the most consistent aggressive driving. boston is aggressive, but there's some unwritten rule that has most guys backing off if there is some head to head thing going on. detroit is the most polite, with the occasional drag race going on.
safe travels all.

Definitley would have unloaded all 4 mags, and ran over as many as possible. Like was said before , never would have gotten off the freeway.
I always carried when I was in the City.

You guys have no idea what that road is like in the wee hours of the AM. It basically is the only straight highway through Manhattan that gives these guys a chance to pin their bikes. They are certainly playing the victim card but half of these guys are from the South Bronx or Harlem or East Ny and they are dirtbags.
For once I see the point in owning a gun.

I still can't figure why the Rover didn't call the cops. Cops could have been there way before the chase was over. Dipshits all around.

Impossible to do donuts in a new rangie I would imagine what I wouldn't have done was one drive so slowly, two head into the city were I would be caught up in traffic and have no way out and three I'd have driven to the nearest cop shop or fairly crowded public space.
I have been followed before drove to the local cop shop the person who followed me was caught on cctv and got a shock when they knocked on his door due to his plate being caught on the polices own cctv so couldnt deny he wasn't following me.

No bother, retail price whey can your payment
they are permanent 4WD etc and you can't fully turn off the TC either in them, what he should have done is set the car in off road mode, hike the suspension up and drive over more of them and therefore do less damage to the Rangie lol

Grass doesn't count, on tarmac and in that space highly doubt you'll manage it, you'd have to get a swing like the above and the above is a range rover sport , the one in the link is a full fat Range Rover

lmao. Ill do donuts in my AWD escalade and post it then. On and off the brake, that's all you need to do.

Do and see your transfer box implode
4wds don't like donuts lol seen plenty Evo's, Skylines etc explode in very many pieces from doing em. And a new Range Rover I'd put money on it wouldn't go round the traction control systems will stop you first. And being auto you'll need to some way decent at throwing them out, friend can do it in his wrecker LS400 Lexus but that has a welded differential and needs a good bitta turn of speed and agressive stabbing of the accel to get it into smooth donuts

I agree its not easy nor is it good fr the car. but it's very doable. Traction control off, You start with the wheel turned, leave e-brake on half way, floor it and go on and off the brake until you're spinning. Every see a WRX do it?

As a wannabe anarchist and a dirt bike racer I have driven down more than a few sidewalks to bypass traffic but these guys are a bunch of asshats! About a month ago I even took a 6 mile stretch of railroad to avoid gridlock but these guys are a bunch of tards! I am usually one to defend the guy wheelying down the highway at 80mph pointing out the skill such a feat requires but at the same time would not stop to help if they ate it. I believe in true freedom and love to see dirt bikes flying down the streets but I also believe in the freedom to run them over if they are taunting families as a gang of thugs. Definitely plan on riding the street legal dirt bike to work tomorrow but won't be wearing the incriminating helmet cam just in case...

I've been in em great fun if a bit dis orientating in 4WD cars as they can get into a very fast spin quite quickly and then take off going round and round.
Great fun in the snow, the dry is a bit violent for my liking.
I agree technically you can do donuts in big SUV's but most modern cars do not actually turn off all the traction control systems even if the dashboard says they are off, I have a Ford Focus as a company car and you 'can' turn off the traction control systems but they will intervene if they feel its getting too outta hand and I'd imagine the Range Rover would be the same its still a 5000lb car at the end of the day that is top heavy etc
