My back injury was originally from doing Drywall. Stocking houses, carrying 2 sheets of 5/8 by myself 1 to many times. I herniated L3&L4 and had sciatica nerve issues for 25 years before I finally had surgery. 99% recovery right away but I had not been in the gym for years and had very little core strength so after my 1st visit to Thailand and a little over activity you might say for 2 weeks my back was SORE when I got home. I decided to use my inversion table for the 1st time in 1year and was hanging upside down and though it would be a good idea to do an inverted situp. SNAP. Ruptured L5/S1. Surgery 2 weeks later after being mostly paralyzed from the waist down.
Mostly I use Ice anytime it bothers me, some decompression and time. Time seems to have done the most. Its back to 95% now?

It was not just from the lower back the left me out of the gym for so long. To many things to go into right now.

Im pretty sure I can. Gun ownership is not that difficult there. Just one more thing to figure out before I go.

I Plan on taking at least 1 of my ATV because I dont think I can easily replace it there. The jet skis no problem. My Stealth???? Owned it for 23 years. 400hp at the wheels and there isnt much I havent done to it over the hears but it's only a car..... Maybe I can find a 3000GT VR4 over there to play with and customize.

Third ball was removed about 15 years ago, seriously. TMI lol

Hmm sounds tempting..... I actually have a really really good (and young of course) one in Philippines waiting for me. We just started to build our 1st house and hopefully soon the full blown retirement home.

Wow over 2 years already since this post.
    House is built.
She is now here in the states with me and we celebrated her 22nd birthday in April.
Stupid Covid-19 has set my retirement plans back a couple of years.
Ive had 2 eye surgeries since then. 2 shoulder surgeries including a Full replacement and going back in to have the Bicep and rotator cuff tendon re attached probably next month.

Other than that life has been..... eventful.

F*****ck. I've seen it happen before and the way you describe it reminded me of how quickly it moved. It looked like one of those old school window shades that suddenly retracts by itself. Nasty, just plain out nasty.

Dont say that!!! I cant imagine it being worse than the original full replacement since they had to remove and replace them at that time also. You should see the bruise I had on my side from where he had to put his knee for leverage to pull my shoulder out of socket for the replacement. Yes he told me that was from his knee lo

The worse pain I have been in so far was when I ruptured L5/S1. It was far worse than the shoulder replacement. The surgery was a breeze and helped 90% with the pain but when it ruptured I could not stand or sit even 30 seconds at a time without passing out from pain.

Yeah it sort of bunches up also. I was (wishful thinking) by bicep had just not shrunk as much as it should have. It still had a nice little peak. hahaha

Holy shit Long time Lovbyts..... Been a long time. I hear you about the surgeries. My other hip needs to get replaced this year. UGH. How have you been?

Been an eventful few years here. Left my wife for a younger sexy woman. She's 17 years younger. Had to sell my business blah blah blah. Overall things have been good though.

Well surgery was 1 year ago but I still get a good scrub down at least 5x a week by a 4' 11" 90 lb very cute Asian girl.

Now I just need to get all these parts to play nice so I can lift properly again. At least all the important parts are still working properly.

Damn when it rains it pours doesn't it? I was hoping shoulders were like hip replacments but my doctor who has also done a lot of hops informed me in the beginning they are two very different animals and the hips are a lot easier and heal quicker. Not that hips would be any fun by any means. Im lucking out in the hips so far even though my mom and sister have had both of theirs done already. Im not looking forward to adding to my list of surgeries.

Only 1 more month until I get my 2nd full shoulder replacement on the same (Left) shoulder as almost 2 years ago. lol Not really looking forward to going through all that again but I also cant stand the fact I am not able to lift my left arm past shoulder height and have very little strength due to the rotator cuff tendon and bicep detatching.

Yes this time I will be good and not do ANYTHING im not supposed to. Getting married less than a month after surgery and then traveling back to the Philippines shortly after probably didnt help. Maybe it was carying the wife over the threshold? No, she was only 85lbs lol

Thanks. I have not been very active on the forum due to my non existent gym routine the last 2+ years due to the bad shoulders. I have never been one to preach what I cant practice. One of these days I will break 30,000 post though. lol

Damn, I hope it goes better for you this time. Were the shoulder injuries due to wear & tear, repeated small injuries, or from one big injury? Just curious, cause I have one shoulder that's been bothering me for a couple of years now, and it's gotten better, but I'm not trying to mess it up too bad. Good luck with everything!

All of the above. lol Lots of wear and tear because I use to work in a wood yard cutting/splitting wood all day, then construction and doing drywall, a few hard spills landing on the shoulders when skiing and snow boarding, crashing on my ATVs and dumbbell over head press.

After seeing so many injuries 1st hand - I’m a at a point where I feel one is no worse than the other.

My neighbor who had two shoulder surgeries still needs me to help him do a bit - yet, I’m out running around even after being in ER last week & having my brain glued back together 5 months ago.

I can’t even explain stuff to myself any more - after this year, I feel like a lot of stuff just makes a lot less sense

I hear you. Usually after every surgery I end up going to the store or somewhere. One of my shoulder surgeries I was in line at the grocery store and saw another person ahead of me with a sling. I asked when he had surgery, he said a little over 3 weeks ago. He asked me and I told him a little over 3 hrs ago. lol He could not believe I was out and about.
Same sort of thing happened after one of my back surgeries.

Thats where I am to stubborn, I dont ask for help. Even though my left arm is only at about 20% at best Im still getting up on the roof putting up Christmas lights and decorations and did a pretty decent full blown haunted garage for Halloween. Most everyone fells like this year is up side down even without injuries Im sure. Pray for a better 2021.
