Ford claims that the occasion of the remodeling of her home in 2012 was what brought back her repressed memory of the attack. She claims the attack and feeling of imprisonment left her so claustrophobnic that she added a second front door to her home to soothe the condition. And it was during this contruction that the repressed memory re-emerged. Except the building permit for the remodeling was dated 2008, not 2012.

However, 2012 was when Republican POTUS candidate Mitt Romney announced that Kavanugh was on his short list for SCOTUS. A fact that was widely known and bemoaned in looney-lefty circles because Jeffrey Toobin wrote a hit piece on Kavanaugh in the New Yorker magazine in response to the news.
